60 kmh @ 5th gear 2000 rpm and 270kmh @ 5th gear 11000 rpm. Think about this power and torque. It's only 145hp and R1's are 182hp. R1's 182hp:182kg 1:1 ratio. Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa's are more scary, so it can do 160kmh at firsssst gear. This is a setup, true...

Well guys, I have an R1 and know th efeeling whe ni have those Corvettes and Porshes eat my dust...anyway, this was only a louzy one lap...chicanes demand technique, so it all depends on the driver.

i have a cbr rr 600 bike and i have beaten both porsch boxter and carrera's in races and my bike is just 600cc so what if it was 1000cc so stop this bullshit crap, no way in a million years a car will overspeed a bike. nice joke

He says the car has 4 tyres on the ground but he fails to mention that the car has a lower centre of gravity. I would feel safer in the car around corners. Is it an argument about guts or speed? Was the R1 rider as good a rider as the guy with his car was a driver? Its too...um ambiguous. Was the bike race tuned etc etc. Did either have a hang over or was the whole thing staged against bikes by the burnt ego car drivers? I want more. I want rocket cars and bikes.

ive seen a lamborghini gallardo take on a ducati 999 and the ducati wins. the R1 is a better track bike and the gallardo is a hell of a better track car than the porche so yeh lucky i dont watch this lame car show =)

the Yamaha R-1 would R**e the car sideways thats just a fact. i think they wrote a pretti good script thoe, make the car drive in the line where the bike has to corner and just pretend the bike is cornering hard

No way the Porshe can beat the bike on that track. I've driven bikes for over 30 years and although I wouldn't race any porche anywhere, I just know that the bike would win in this instance.

and the whole 'put them on a drag strip' bullshit - why do you americans insist on drag racing everything ? making something go fast in a straight line has its own merits sure - but seriously - what is the point ? Roads have corners thus the devices we use to navigate said roads must incorporate the taking of said corners. A car does this immeasurably better than a bike - job done.

Car drivers still needs 4 tires to be in control, cant even stay in theyre feet with out very big big shoes, and seat belts to stay in place, wind protection, air bags, ABS, TCS and all that.
