This is no myth!
having worked on small turbines, I know th power of such engines ... even at a small scale. If one the size of an average 4 cylinder car engine is enough to power a 65 ton amored vehicle with a jet blast of its own, they surely can to this sort of damage as shown on this video.
These engines will "ripp you a new rectum" if not given the proper respect!

Are u sure? U call this a myth? I work on these things and do engine run ups every week.. I can assure you that if u go anywhere in the exhaust path of that aircraft ull be found a couple of hundred metres away!! And at take off power that engine is capable of sucking u in from a distance of about 30metres or more... things that happened ... it will practically mince you.... and bust the engine!

  A fully loaded Boeing 747 plane with 450 passengers, fully fueled and full load of cargo can weigh up to 800,000 lbs (360,000 kg). For comparison, that's the weight of 270 automobiles!! It has to be able to carry this weight in the air and fly at 550 miles/hr (910 km/hr) for thousands of miles. This is why the engines are so powerful. And it needs 4 of such engines to do this. Pilots of smaller planes are always warned to never fly directly behind a 747. The wings of the 747 can create huge vortices that can easily flip a smaller plane over, even up in the sky.

Duh frig of course those engines will rip those cars up. It doesn't take an idiot to figure that out. If 4 of those engines move over 200 tons they will surely push a car aside from a distance. One thing though. IF the plane is flying above you at close range, you will NOT be subjected to its jetwash the same way because the energy that moved those cars is moving the plane. Just stay away from the intakes, they are forever unforgiving. The jet intake is the scariest part!

  I think MythBusters did it with 1 engine. Also, at the end of the show they said that it had really happened somewhere (don't remeber where) but they just couldn't duplicate it. The comentator is also on the Brit show "Top Gear." Just FYI.
