Time lapse video of the building of a large Trebuchet. The machine was built for the band "dirty on purpose"'s latest rock video, "Car No Driver" The machine was... More» designed and built by Jeff Del Papa, founder of the engineering competition team "The New England Rubbish Deconstruction Society; The NERDS", with the assistance of B&M Fabrication of Gilbertsville PA. Built from steel, it weighs over 2.5 tons. (counterweight represented 1.5 tons of the total). The frame is 20 feet tall, the arm tip is another 18 feet at its highest point. This was filmed at a rate of one frame every 4 seconds (two minutes of real time for every second of video).   Would have run past 6 minutes if I included the toss. Since the toss was already up on its own, I left it off.
