Global warming home experiment. And to thos people who think global warming is a lie... well go join thos who used to think the world was flat.
AND TO THINK ALL THE MONEY BEING WASTED ON COMPUTER MODELS. AND ALL THE SCIENTISTS WORKING ON THIS AND ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS MELT SOME ICE CUBES IN A TUPPERWARE CONTAINER.
By dlong66 1175145961 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAll the concern I have heard is about Arctic ice which is floating ice, 90% of which is already taking up space under water. Ice expands when it freezes so the ice under water is taking up more space than when it melts. Try the experiment with completely free floating ice, this does not simulate natural Arctic conditions.
By Sailor123 1175082689 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"Global warming" - it'll affect everything, including all the glaciers around the world and the antarctic, which is a land mass, with ice on top, not a body of free floating ice.
By bobjakes 1175129776 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"Global Warming Is NOT A Lie." from melting some ice in a casserole dish?????
Damn, you're a good scientist, dude. Einstein, move over!!!!
its funny that I am only 22 and I am not a retarded as to believe everything that is told to me....didn't ur parents ever teach u not to trust anyone making money off of u....I have done several research projects and experiments and they ALL disprove global warming why don't u try doing a research project based solely on scientific information and not just from america....hell i went to greenland and the natives think all americans are dumb try looking up some of their research....by the way i wish there was global warming cause it would be very good for us right now!
By clements 1248979106 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removemay be late to reply to this but might as well anyways.
The experiment was conducted wrong, but global warming is not alie and sea levels will rise. For example, if you place that ice on top of bunch a of rocks so it is not touching the water, the level of the water will rise as it starts to melt. This is well, common sense because the ice is suspended above the water level and therefore when it melts, you are adding more water... This example represents the ice glaciers of greenland, where the ice rests above sea level.
Scientists are worrying about the melting of the ice glaciers of greenland and not the artic.....

By quizzikal 1203663752 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIcebergs are not resting on the sea floor as the ice in this dish is. If you wanted an honest demonstration, suspend the ice in a deeper dish of water and watch the level stay the same.
The Zeno map drawn around 1380 shows Greenland without glaciers. The Zauche map of 1737 as well as the Peri Reis map of 1513 shows Antarctica without ice. The Hamy King Chart of 1502 shows Siberian rivers emptying into the Arctic ocean which are now under ice. The Iehudi Ibn Zara map of 1487 shows glacier remnants in Britain. The King Jamie World Chart of 1502 show the Sahara Desert with lakes and rivers.
This melting is not new to the earth folks.
The origins of "global warming" alarmism had its roots in the 1970s-era fears of "global cooling" and an impending ice age, resulting from the 1940-1970 global temperature decline. Swedish meteorologist Bert Bolin suggested at the time that man-made greenhouse gas emissions might offset the cooling by warming the atmosphere.
By 1knightrider 1182057710 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe earth has cooling and warming cycles since the beginning of time. How long have meteorologists been keeping recorded temps? For the last 100 years or so? Scientists were predicting in 1974 that we were entering an ice age. They can't even get the weather forcast right for next week.
By dixierph 1177266154 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAs already posted, it is the Greenland icecaps that will cause the oceans to rise, not the melting of the polar ice sheets.
By tectonic_shift 1175137661 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe ice was not completely submerged so this experiment is false and inconclusive. There is no use in arguing with me I am a professor dealing with physics and the way you went about this is wrong.
By valamir 1175122794 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removegreenland glaciers we have to worry about
By eliasg 1175086983 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removelisten kid the ice should not touch the ground
so please try again
why not? floating ice bergs are not what the scientists are fretting about, its those that are on land.
