I think this is similar to the 'waterfall effect'. this works with anything moving in one direction - like a water fall. if you keep your eyes fixed at on spot for long enough and then look away, your brain overcompensates and what you then look at will move the other way. it can work with rivers, fire (moves up usualy), lines on the tv scrolling up. Ive even noticed after driving for a while and then stopping, the scenery warps. makes you think about whats realy happening and how our brains interpret whats real.
