You know what's fascinating is that I've tried this several times and yet I can't always get it to work. I've tried different sized bottles and different types of Ketchup to see if the weight of the ketchup in different brands works...has anyone else had difficulty?

if you can get it work make a small hole in the ketchup and press it a little and let some air to come out. Put it in a glass first and check that is hardly floating.

Also remember to let a little, just a little air inside the bottle so you dont have to make to much effort to make the ketchup move.

it works by changing the size of the air bubble inside the packet
when he squeezes the bottle the air bubble gets smaller and the overall buoyancy gets lower and so the packet sinks
when he lets go the air bubble inside the packet restores itself and expands increasing the buoyancy thus floating to the top

this is called state of buoncy
when the bottle is squeezed, the state changes and turns into negative buoncy which makes the ketchup go down, but if you let them go, it turns to positive buoncy which it floats. and if you control the bottle well, it stays as neutral buoncy, which stays in the middle. this works same with clay attached to a normal pen cap.
