Turning a light bulb into a plasma ball. To limit the amount of electricity that goes into the transformer, there's a 200 watt light bulb in the circuit.

- It is...both.
  One of my other videos actually shows how dangerous it can be. Slightly-Mad Science : Dangers of Electricity. Of course I replaced my hand with a fake finger (hot-dog), but it still makes it clear...electrical burns (among the other dangers) can really S**k .

  Weird. Anyhoo, this is done with a 15,000 volt neon transformer, and a 200 watt lightbulb is placed in the circuit before the transformer to act as a resistor, limiting the amount of current going through. Still isn't exactly SAFE, so I don't recommend this sorta thing to the inexperienced.
