    And there's worse ways of dying. I'm sure war has worse case scenarios of death, like half of your body exploding and bleeding to death. The cross was made more for humiliation purposes.

      Many Roman crucifixions were done on t-shaped crosses - some were even crucified on x-shaped crosses (like St Andrew) so the film is quite correct. As for 'worse' deaths, Very few if any methods of execution come even close to crucifixion for sheer prolonged agony and cruelty. The Romans knew exactly what they were doing to inflict the most pain. Add to that the humiliation, the betrayal and the separation from God the Father at the moment of his death as he took the sins of the world on his shoulders and you might get the gist of what he went through.       This year is 2008.... even our time system is based on the date of Christ's birth, originally thought to be 2008 years ago (now, we know that figure to be slightly wrong... this year should be 2012!).
