By editing the hosts files in windows xp or vista, one can redirect certain urls to other pages defined by the file settings. This just shows the essence of the concept, not its application or technique - a batch file could be made and imbedded in files to remotely modify the file and redirect to an altered login or whatnot (only test this on your own system for knowledge purposes - this is only for showing concept of hosts file). music: MLUFG - sun (used with permission :])

  • Lame ripoff and not very informative

Sorry, someone already did this, and it was a lot more informative and useful than yours.

Dr. Digit, you must not understand the underlying implications of this modification. The other video only talked about blocking ads, and was most likely made after I had already made this "ripoff" (which has been on youtube for months now). I am new to MC and didn't want to get banner or anything for describing how to design a fake gmail login from a remote ip and use php scripts to relay the data back to the hacker, or how to design a batchfile whixch automatically edit the hosts file through some remote exploit. I guess I should assume that people aren't creative and can't think for themselves then... I smell n00bsause.
