      Normal coke is more dense therefore it has more of a mass and that sinks while of course diet ANYHTING is less dense than normal and therefore floats!

    Not surprised at the outcome because all that sugar has to make that soda much more dense the water, but that is just one those things I never would have thought about.

      only in large amounts. sugar is a necessity for living. everything needs sugar. sugar also counteracts diabetes too. do you know that there is TWO types of diabetes? too much sugar is bad for you giving you type 2 diabetes, but too little -which is also bad for you- give you type 1 diabetes. so just sugar itself CANT give you diabetes it all depends on the amounts. it all goes to the old saying. "too much of a good thing." sugar is good for you but too is bad.

    it depends on the density of the drink and if its lighter or heavier than water

    soda is pretty dense, thats why it sank in H2O
