  Don't be such an spoil sport. 30-50 mA can be lethal sure (if through your heart and in bad part of the pulse cycle), but a Van de Graaff generator this size will probably generate just one or two thousand parts of that. So hardly any threat to you.. (Though, zaps you with several hundred kilovolts :p)
