►► http://LiveStreamTV.tk - ====I don't get it, are they for real? Or they just making fun of the audience?
a bit of fun
ping pong players always do this on the last point just for a bit of fun as there is already a clear winner.
ps:THIS IS NOT FAKE
Wang Liqin(the one in red shirt) is the best player right now and Ma Lin(the shorter guy) is close behind in rankings.
If I'm not mistaken that clip was taken from a major ProTour event last 2004.
If you guys tell us that table tennis is easy to play then try to play with big guns not basement junkies.
ä¸Â國人嗎,白人什麼都ä¸Â能åÂÅ¡
By SlyFoX13 1156093476then why the f*** is a judge watching every point?
By getoverit 1154853942why do you guys who made the comments below all think to know EVERYTHING even if you have no idea was happened and have no idea what table tennis is?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!??!
ma lin (the player who smashed - top5 of the world) could play the ball where he wanted, but he didn't....and not because this was an exhibition (noo, this was world cup or world championships what I can see only after seeing the court ), but because ma lin saw that he had no possibility to win (he was down 10-4 in the last set) so he decided to make a little show for the crowd, and of course his opponent agreed...
and at the people who said, that this is fake:
you have sooo few idea of what table tennis is!!! unbelieveable!!!!!! for one of the best players, like they are, this rally is very easy (believe me or not, but it is true!!!!), but they do it because it's the most amazing thing for the crowd!!!!! every normal short rallye is more difficult because that rallyies are so short because everybody on the pro tour (the ATP-tour of table tennis) makes problems to the other players!!!!!!!!
why are you guys always doing like you know everything even if you no anything!!!
I say this to all the following comments because I as a tabletennis player nearly drove crazy after reading this comments!!!!!!!
informate, then post!!!!
you must be new here. if excess amounts of ignorance bothers you, i suggest you stop using metacafe. ;-)
By getoverit 1155196777i'm not replying to 0023, i'm simply using the shameless method of replying to the highest comment so more people will see my comment
By getoverit 1154854005This is the final point. the winner should win one more. but they are making audiences very exciting.
By Juliaicecream 1146686734Almost everyone can do that.Me not I cannot play ping-pong,i don't like this kind of game and this kind of gameplay.
By yepy 1153457989If it is a serious match, like national championship or Olympic Games, nobody will do this even there is a "clear winner". In Ping Pang, there are so many example of winning from behine by like 10 points when the other player is at match point.
By NoahFZ 1149686165Till I ram my spleen into the corner of the table -_-
By phosphor112 1145420244i prefer to watch ping pong to playin.... i leave playin to the pros ^.^
By Ami-desu 1145993477It's for real guys... stop being immature. I'm Chinese, all throughout the point the commentator is saying: this is their way of just having fun, pleasing the crowd and finishing off the point. The commentator is saying : "something something gei ni ren shu... " which is talking about the guy basically admitting defeat so they play the last point just for formalities sake and to please the crowd.
By Xost 1136609144Blue Shirt: Ma Lin #2 World Ranking
Red Shirt: Wang Liqin #1 World Ranking
what really amazed me is how they still followed the rules even though they were on the opposite side of which they were supposed to be and bounced it on the right side
srry if somebody thinks this is pointless...
But they were not really competing with each other. From the Chinese comment in the video, the result has been nailed down, so the players just do it to amuse the audience. Take it easy. Why should the blue give his opponent chances to reach the ball in the real match? If he wanna win he could just give a near-net ball.
By adad 1144616327the reason why they are not fighting to win the game is becos they are both from the chinese team, it didn't matter who wins it since afterall the Chinese team has clinched both first and first runner up placings.
nonetheless, table tennis is a game which has been long dominated by the chinese, and to the chinese, winning with skill and integrity is impt. thus even if this had been a decisive match, the opponent wouldn't have put a near net ball to win the game. hope it enlightens some of you folks out there. just my 2 cents worth. correct me if i'm wrong as well =)
People, it's obvious this is not a serious match - they switched ends of the table during the point for God's sake! They're just trying to entertain the crowd with their superlative skills. By the way, the players are not Japanese, they're Chinese. The guy in red is Wang Liqin, world #1, and Ma Lin, world #4 is in blue.
By PongGod 1133898999It's the Final match for Pro Tour tournament. The red shirt (Wang Liqin) is leading 3 sets by none (3-0) and it is the final set where the point is 10-3 (if i'm not mistaken). This is what it is meant by clear winner. This is what a professional player do in a situation like that. the crowd paid their tickets, if the final game is not challenging, then it's a waste. Something like this will at least make it worth.
By mazemelb 1212711491side of the world...he could have just tapped it instead of beaming it right to him so no they are not serious
By Rodrigo332 1182191697Boy that takes a lot of skill. It looks to easy for them? I think they should have 3-4 snakes on the ground they need to dodge to make it harder for them...
Good job guys that good skill..
ping pong is not really a sport, its more of a boardgame. its kinda ripped off of monopoly but u can also tell that there is sum majong derived rules, and because of this dynamic duo between monopoly and majong, ping pong is neither a boardgame nor a messed up card game, but a sport. there has been much controversy over this, but i for one believe ping pong is more of a messed up card game. and no, it has nothing to do with tennis and doesn't have any similarities, that rumor was spread by a jealous mongolian guy (right after the mongolian dynasty ended in china) hoo knew he could never make a game as cool as ping pong. a week after spreading this rumor he killed himself because he chased an orange ping pong ball all day long only to realize it was a monopoly property called Baltic.
By ddandevil67 1163938625aren't they brothers? i know there was a match that started like this, when 2 brothers were competing against each other
By bavooO 1156358343It helps your opponent when you hit the ball to him every time...Round eye too competitive
By theeternalflame 1155343455I'm A Chinese boy, they are the best 2 players all over the world~~~
By milanboy1986 1154883075but u cant understand it...
its south asian fair..
2 players can take the point easily but he take the fairy game for this point....
i am a tt player myself n many of my friends n i can do stuff like this but as these are pros this is very ezy for them.use saying its fake well ya wrong i c dis stuff a lot!!!
By lild 1152916440I would just keep "accidently" winning the point. But of course that would never happen in america because all sportsmanship is dead.
By germinator20 1152859430i think they are clear show offs and that was a BIG JOKE!
By myratela 1152649800I am Chinese, so I know what they are doing. This is a real game, but not a serious one. It's like a club friendly match in football (soccer). This kind of games are always entertaining in the Ping Pang world. And the two players are both world champion.
By NoahFZ 1149685796I watched it LIVE on tv..... this is freestyle of ping-pong
if it was tournament and points counted, you'd see the the "smasher" leaving his feet from slamming the ball
By Maximus51 1143962136i really feel a little sad that there are not mang people know the game
By gary`s 1143782192Já presenciei uma apresentação da Seleção Paulista de Tenis de Mesa... muito bom...
By *DJ* 1143588743Why would this be fake? Is it so difficult? Answer is no btw.
By Lebowski 1142891401its real ping-pong championship but one of the game alrdy lost the game. the one game ball we saw was put on by the 2 players just for the crow. i can understand chinese so i know what they are saying in the background.
Yall sayin "it's not a fake" "stop being immature cuz its real" "they're kiddin"... of course they are kidding, everyone can see that... they allways do this...
By Lickaro 1141528416it is for sure real and i my self saw live one not exactly like this but almost with the same kind of play , Cina is great in this sport
By Canadian 1139620677hey can anyone tell me if i can download these videos somehow?
By nikolamk 1135784075these are the 2 top table tennis players right now, they are both chinease ranked 1 and 2
By hamdyman 1134870621This was a real point until the guy outside of the barrier made an illegal shot because his paddle struck the ball while it was past his side of the net, as you can hear by the whistle being blown like crazy to end the point. They played out the end of the point just for the fans. And to those of you who think its staged because the guy inside of the barrier could have just made like a drop shot or not hit it directly at the other player, you are completely wrong. It is almost impossible to hit the ball anywhere other than right back at that player because of how much spin is placed on the ball when coming from that far away from the table...
By mike006 1134105069He could have played it anywhere he want, the "guy" in the blue shirt names "MA LIN" and he´s the best table-tennis player in the world. Whit his skills, he could have played the ball anywhere he want to... But, it was the last ball, and the other player leaded 10-4. So they "gave" the last ball to the fans.
And the guy in the red shirt, made spin on the ball so it could pass the net.
So he made the spin because he want them to switch sides.
I also play table tennis in my sparetime!
They are team mates from china, they was just kidding, (they are no. 1 & 2 in the world..)
By be 1134420617You can surely tell this is a real point but they played it on for the crowd. The guy in the blue could have easily won the point when the guy in htte red hopped the border. If you watch he could have just hit it to the left. And when they switch sides that is perfectly legal, except they wouldn't have kept hitting it to each other after hitting the correct side. Even though it is still pretty cool.
By frontbutt 1134102727Yup this is an exhibition Match. But as one of the guys mentioned below that they changed ends is totally incorrect. This was a perfectly leagal relly. They changed ends but thoughout the match they kept on landing the ball only on one side of table same side of the table. I would say amazing display of concentration and table tennis skills.
By Akunnah 1133989694Yes, they indeed changed ends of the table, but I never said what they did was illegal since, as you stated, they continued hitting the ball onto the correct side of the table. I was simply pointing out that this coordinated manuever would obviously never occur during a seriously contested point. But, just to clarify, it is very likely that this was an actual tournament match that, upon reaching the inevitable conclusion, one player basically conceded and then they mutually agreed to put on a little show for the crowd. This is not an uncommon thing, especially in matches between two friends or teammates.
By PongGod 1134011039Get a grip you guys. Good fun, but do you REALLY need to ask if it's for real??
By AladdinSane 1133913858The guy in blue was challeneged by how the red guy went to a far side from the table. If has had (easily) won the guy the audiance won't like an easy win, the guy in blue won't even as he was challenenged
By Tyreke 1133897169They do this from time to time. In truth, you're sometimes forced to stay far back when defending, but this was exaggerated. The guy in blue could have won this play (i don't remember what it's called), but he decided to help make it fun. He probably already lost the game.
By gravy 1133807378Although it's truly a brilliant way to play, and all legal within the rules of the game, the red guy had already won. If only all table-tennis games were like this though, eh?
By MegaLamb 1133804793It's obvious that the two guys were having fun and it shows.
By Bearfoot 1133742813per conversation from the TV station reporter;
the game was over, and players decided to switch side for fun.
u can see that they are still hitting the sides they are supposed too.
By Annonymous 1133740277ping pong players always do this on the last point just for a bit of fun as there is already a clear winner.
By kan 1133730372Was this an actual game in competition? It looks more staged for entertainment.
By msmaryx 1133730267Coz simply when they switched places, the one with red shirt could easily hit the ball in his adversary field n not access to him ;)
By Bigbosss 1133740098the guy should simply put the ball on the other corner and the crazy one would not reack it
By pachecov 1151864927this is simply a performance...
not a match
a performance... i play this game...
The Chinese simply own at this sport as its one of their national sports along with Badminton.
By Dark Magician 1149180026That was great ive seen that a couple of times, this is real all of you nonbelievers
By Great ME 1141339786its all a part of japanese vs american sportsmanship, to japanese a victory is worthless in sports/games if won by sneaky tactics... this is seen commonly in go where players will point out possible moves for their opponent as opposed to how most americans play chess or checkers.. .trying to distract their opponent away and beating them sneakly.. .relating to the video...it would be a poor sport if the player had just ignored his oponents great skill in returning the ball by making him pay for his move.. .instead he is making him return antoher... testing just how good the other player is... wanting to prove that his shot will inevitably be better
