This project contains all about how to make a chip to control your computer remotely with almost any remote controller you can find in your house. All parts can by found at local radioshack shop. Everything cost about 10$. Schematics are made by some guy name Igor. He also made plugin to program girder. OK thanks for Igor and let start making real goods!!!

Pretty cool
I like the video, I had no idea that was even possible with a tv remote. The possiblities are endless! I could have done without the weird pics of the baby at the end though. And maybe some schematic diagrams woulda been nice as well.

Good tutorial
i'm gonna try this out.
It might be a good idea if you extend the TSOP (IR sensor) with a piece of electra wire so you can put it up higher, because with IR you need to aim the signal and that is a bit hard if your sensor is behind the systemcase.

  if you wanna get gutsy, solder the connections onto the inside of the serial port where it coes off the motherboard and mount the IR sensor in your case, a blank 5 1/4 bay cover maybe.
