By whyyoowhyy 1175548634 Reply Spam [+10] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeand they didnt tell us how to protect our selves -as they claimed in the beginning of the video
By yutyuty 1176713734 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTowards the end of the clip, they basically said buy better locks that start around $80 each lol.
By brownbearclan 1178811191 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYears I have been working with lockpicks and it requires lots of practice and skills. And new age door locks You can not pick with them anyways. By this bumpkey I would be abble to do it about 5 to 7 seconds faster...
This will be in my burgular toolbox as soon as my order will be processed and delivered. Thanks CBC!
and they give a solution on it.. get better lock.. dumbass

By brainbuster 1175316582 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removejust get a basic house blank key , stick it in the lock and turn left and right then take it out and use a file to file where you left marks on the blank key by turning the key back in forth, repeaqt this untill the key works..
By spaceII 1180518766 Reply Spam [-2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove... lol...the gov dont need bumpkeys to rob u...
By tippitoe@live.ca 1219562142 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis just isn't a problem in the UK. Instead we have lock snapping!
By Matthewglover 1185305076 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethats what dogs are for, my rottweiler does a great job. and my place has never been locked going on 16yrs. i do have a front and back yard that is fenced off and completely accessable to my dog.
By RiottoiR 1181488092 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIn their defense bump keys were meant for those big office buildings so the janitors wouldn't have to carry around a hundred keys that could be easily stolen.
By KingofKards 1181243094 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove1.now every criminal knows about them b/c of the news report
2. i got the best defense against it, it's called a gun
I saw another report that said that Medeco and Schlage locks can't be bumped. I think Kwikset has some that protect against that too.
By bigdeezle77 1179113951 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMedeco locks are high seurity locks. Very expensive and are made with whats called mushroom or spool pins. They catch to where its makes it extremely difficult to pick and even bump. Schlage locks can be bumped although they probably make newer bump proof locks. BTW one of the locks in that video that they bumped was a schlage. Im a locksmith and I work with these all the time.
By ipmasta 1180634861 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehow any of you can "pick a lock" when you barely know how to spell legible words?
By NoRegrets187 1177742917 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveLooks like if the ones who manufacture the modern kind of locks would pay this information to be shown, and the old locks becomes useless, so they will increase their sales. To show this is not stupid, it's evil and corrupt.
By From Mexico 1177443252 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou could chose to remain ignorant of this but your locks on your house are still going to be able to be bumped. Yeah, by showing this on television the bad guys are going to definitely see this. But at the same time, a lot of them have already known about this. Its a matter of how much you care about security. interesting to me that one person will purchase a $300,000 house and yet put cheap $8 locks on it! It works to increase sales of new locks but at the same time make it a lot harder than 5 seconds of bumping to get in your house. Being in the business of physical security being a locksmith, its your own choice as to how much value you put on the security of your own home.
By ipmasta 1180635207 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis webpage has links to a 1928 patent showing what is definitely a bump key:

Guess these have been around for a while, leave it to the internet to spread the word.
there was a guy on here a couple of weeks ago telling how to make these keys, you can do them in your own home without having to go to a locksmith! if your that interested just have a look! but these keys dont work on pvc door locks as far as im aware
By peterpan dont growup 1175899608 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI agree! This is stupidest reveled technique of how to do something that I have ever seen... we don't need the bad guys to learn about all these secrets. Thanks for nothing! Duh!
By jay7am 1175185559 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell, you can always find usefull information on metacafe ;)
Yep those bumpkeys are very usefull.
Now i'm scared to leave my house
By Broken Head 1175164898 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAccording to this you should also be scared to stay in your house.
By xela6 1175185167 Reply Spam [+5] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell you should lock your house while your in it too. I have heard of instances where a guy robbed about 30 houses before they caught him. He would walk in while they were home and grab S**t and go. A lot of people do not think anyone would come in their house while they are home. Hope you sleep good tonite ;-)
By ipmasta 1180635351 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHEY everybody... just turn on the key from the inside and turn it a bit thats not leave it in exact vertical position. Try it even with your own copy key of ur same door lock. Its for sure
By BL00DL3$$ DRAG0N 1176238147 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removenow everyone going to know hwo to break into houses with ease. showing the key and how it works.
moronic. seriously moronic.
...but the internet made them far more accessible" - now that's relevant.
By toto lasticot 1175223041 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI understand where you are coming from, being concerned that people will learn how to do this by watching... However the problem is that criminals already know how to do this stuff. But now you know how insecure your locks are. Use it to your own atvantage.
By NITEBREED 1175198871 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeinvent some new expensive lock to now be required to keep you safe.
I think the one's giving the information are the same people who are making a profit if you buy the more secure locks.
Just get a good vicious doggy.
