  • What ever

The Me-262 was the an awsome plane, ofcurse you ahve bugs in it but mainly the war time loss of quality control can be held accountable for it. To bad that Adolf knew it all better and forced it into a Blitz-Bomber role. They had a few Night-fighter proto-types in production with radar, they were way ahead of there time. Just proves that German technology of the war paved the way what we have now.

    • too bad?

I would say its a good thing it he didn't see the real potental of this aircraft. it would have made no diference to the outcome of the war just killed more aircrews. and maybe but not likely prolonged the airwar. on the german technology being ahead and paving the way for what we have now you are definetly rite.

  • RUSSIANS

JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT IT WAS TWO RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS THAT MADE JETS. I FORGOT THEIR NAMES BUT IT WASN'T NEITHER N. AMERICAN, BRITISH, NOR GERMAN. WHEN HITLER CAPTURED THESE TWO SCIENTISTS, HE MADE THEM SPIT OUT OF WHAT THEY HAD. OF COURSE RUSSIA HAD PROTOTYPES OF PLANES THAT WHERE NEVER! PUT ON THE BATTLE, BUT THEN STALIN THOUGHT THEY WHERE BETRAYING THE MOTHERLAND AND THEY AND MANY OTHER SCIENTISTS HAD TO FLEE. SO ALL THE CREDIT SHOULD GO TO THE RUSSIANS

  • Not Many Ever Built

The Me262 wasn't much of a fighter. It had exteremely limited range, but it was the fastest thing in the air at the time. Gunners aboard the B17s just watched in amazement as they flew by. The Jet technology still had a few bugs to work out, but the Luftwaffe was getting desperate, so they rushed a few into production. It was, quite simply, too little, too late.
The Music heard here is said to have been Hitler's favorite.

    • The American made Lockheed P-80 was supe...

And the P-80 was flown only 6 months after it was designed on paper. The P-80 flew in 1944, in WWII actually, just never saw action; luckily for the Me-262. :) The P-80 would've whooped the Me-262 in a dog-fight. ;)

Not many know about the P-80, since it didn't see action in WWII, and it didn't have the hype of literally being the first ever jet-fighter. It was, however, the most superior of 1st generation jet-fighters. So, you can make all the assumptions about the Nazi's possibly owning the allies if the war stayed long enough to see more of the Me-262, but it's simply not true, because it'd have then met the superior P-80, and you'd say bye bye to the Me-262.

    • He-162 and Ta-183

Then you didn't heard about Heinkel He-162A2 which was the fastest jet fighter in 1945 and you didn't heard about TA-183 which was the project on drawning desk but it was even better far more better than your p-80

    • Apparently the 183 was the basis

for the first Russian Mig 15. And the Horten flying wing data was used for the B2 many years later. The influences spread far indeed. Lets not forget their contribution to rockets and gyro systems. If they didn't have an idiot for a leader, they could have won.

    • They did

If Hitlers intention was to run England from Europe he succeeded eventually.
The Krauts certainly had the brains, just not the resources and time.
Still their scientists got man to the moon, started the space race, were on the way to make the A bomb and had its ideas used for the Mig 15...and that baby beat any of that american and british shite of the time...yeah!!

    • Northrop

An American named Northrop made a flying wing design aircraft in the early 1940s. It first flew in 1942. The name of this flying wing, was the N-9M; that's what the B-2 took its design from.
