It's fairly simple,
the group owed $30 collectively, which is $10 each. The manager then realized they owed $5 less as a group than he predicted, thus he returns $3 to the group, which is $1 each; therefore the group pays $28 (25+3), which is $9.33(approx) each. Not the $9 the video predicts.
