How to create an ultra Hidden folder on Windows XP!!! Even invisible if you have the Show Hidden Folders activated!

I used winRAR to create an archive, but select the "Delete files after archiving" create the archive, them just delete the archive, the folder was deleted by winRAR

To Remove
So removing, if you can't change the name (especially on VISTA) is a real problem because access is denied. Also, I couldn't move the folder off the desktop.

1. Do a hard shut down of the computer and reboot, choosing the command: run command prompt in safe mode

2. Navigate to desktop folder

3. run a directory showing the short dos names (dir/x)

4. see name of hidden directory, probably several letters and a number followed by a ~1... for example [AA0A~1]

5. Type rmdir [AA0A~1]/s

6. Type dir again and it should be gone. Worked for me, anyway. Good luck.

Alt 0160 for laptop users
for laptop users, u need to turn on numlk. then try to figure out where are your laptop's numbers are, by trying all the keys. As for mine, as soon as num lock on, when i press j, it would show 1 on the screen instead of j, k for 3 and l for number 3 and so on. so to press, 0160, i press mjom (with numlk on). thanks

  rename the file: readme or anything you want. Just use your brain or gooogle if your dumb!

  hey what's up... it should work, you have to hold ALT key down while you press 0160 on your numeric keyboard and then release ALT. You won't see anything, but in fact the invisible character is there...

  Hey, well first of all you have to know where you placed the folder, and then selecting all the files it will show an invisible one, which is you hidden folder.
  You can right click on it, and then change the icon on the properties of the folder, and/or change the name...

Works...sorta...
I tried this and it works. However if you create it in a folder where your viewing options are set as thumbnails or filmstrip, it will still show the folder. Nice trick though.
