Create An Ultra Hidden Folder On Windows XP

I used winRAR to create an archive, but select the "Delete files after archiving" create the archive, them just delete the archive, the folder was deleted by winRAR

So removing, if you can't change the name (especially on VISTA) is a real problem because access is denied. Also, I couldn't move the folder off the desktop.

1. Do a hard shut down of the computer and reboot, choosing the command: run command prompt in safe mode

2. Navigate to desktop folder

3. run a directory showing the short dos names (dir/x)

4. see name of hidden directory, probably several letters and a number followed by a ~1... for example [AA0A~1]

5. Type rmdir [AA0A~1]/s

6. Type dir again and it should be gone. Worked for me, anyway. Good luck.

for laptop users, u need to turn on numlk. then try to figure out where are your laptop's numbers are, by trying all the keys. As for mine, as soon as num lock on, when i press j, it would show 1 on the screen instead of j, k for 3 and l for number 3 and so on. so to press, 0160, i press mjom (with numlk on). thanks

Instead of pressing ALT + 0160 you can just press the spacebar.

i tried it many times but it still didnt work

in fact..this is a copy of an older video that shows exactly the same thing..i've seen lots of video with this subject..this is borring

I tried this and it works. However if you create it in a folder where your viewing options are set as thumbnails or filmstrip, it will still show the folder. Nice trick though.
