  Meteors happen about a hundred miles above the earth. You cannot see a meteor in Mexico from Italy.

Nice but..
I'm still wond'ring how an earth "meteor" was travelling under those clouds. Those are so called middleclouds (altostratus). I'm not so sure if thats real..

And lightblade: you seem to have no knowledge about meteors. The speed of meteor depends on what angle it hits to earths athmosphere. For example here in Finland was a meteor few weeks ago, which lit up the sky for a 14 seconds, and after that it exploded above the Finland.
