Ah the fun that can be had with an Infantry Electronic Warfare Simulation System. Basically like laser games but with real assault rifles firing blanks.
The black circles you can see on the vests and their helmets are the sensors. The little box on the left side of the barrel reacts to the discharge of a round and sends out a pulse in a trajectory like a bullet.
Hit the black circle with the pulse and it causes the system to not fire a pulse (weapon still fires) and emit a shrieking sound. To stop the shrieking sound you need to put your back against something like the ground or a wall.
Laser games for grown ups. Fun
