I know people who have killed themselves from utter stupidity. One attempted overdose because her boyfriend, who obviously never even liked her much in the first place, dumped her ... another who topped himself after his girlfriend finished with him. He got drunk, drove over a few towns, tied a rope around a post, the other end around his neck, and drove. The rope snapped and his car flew into an old couple's house, and would have killed THEM as well if they hadn't gone to bed early. It's utterly inexcusable. These people can do so much more with their lives. To end it for no good reason is abominable.
I also know one I can understand. Raped by their mum's boyfriend, her mum promised to go back to him as soon as he got out of prison. She was living with an absolute dickhead who battered her brother, ate her child's hamster, most likely beat her ...
But for the majority of suicides ... absolute stupidity. Selfish F**king stupidity. Don't they ever think about the people they leave behind? Their children, even? And if you kill yourself over some ex, you could completely destroy their life ... I know one girl whose ex committed suicide and blamed her. Guilt can completely mess a person up, and it shows in every one of her relationships now. She'll let any guy walk all over her because of that subconscious fear ...1118644 - 3

suicide is a cowards way out for those who know what they are doing, lot of people talk about it but few actually go through with it. something seriously wrong with someone who does have to go through with it as they can't talk it through or are so mentally unstable that there is no other way.

Suicide is not something that you should make fun of. I knew someone who commited suicide and loved them dearly. For those of you who say why would people commit suicide, the person can have seriouse depression, anxiety, mental illness, or all of the above. The person isn't obviously doing it for thrills. Some people are just pushed so far to that limit there is no escape.

For those of you so uncompassionate for those who try suicide, I know it's out of ignorance. For the perspective of a healthy psyche, yes, suicide seems inconceivable. But clinical depression can take you to a void where no matter how much a tiny part of you is aware of the finality  the despair takes over and can leave you on an edge where maybe you can stop yourself  maybe you can't. Until you've been there, try a little compassion for those so desperate.

His weight was just not far enough forward. He had that split second hesitation that cost him dearly. If he had gone all out - no hesitation - he would have made it. Of course he would have needed to know how to roll to avoid breaking bones - and even then he would have probably messed up something.
He just was not thinking. If he had thought it through surely he would have figured out that even if he made the jump he would have been a c**n in a tree - unable to move from there, especially if he were injured.

I still have a C.D. single in my flat that i bought when i met a friend of mine in a music store that same day. A week later i was reading my friend's name in a news paper (he was a young man like myself)- overdose. I cried for my friend, searching my heart for him, but he was gone.
I heard another young man talking about his attempt to commit suicide because of severe bullying in school. He had his hand on the handle of his front door and had timed the trains speeding past his house 2 minutes away. His mind was made up, he was completely destroyed inside so he was going to finally destroy his human body which was causing him to be imprisoned within utter misery. The phone rang as he opened the door, he was nearly sick, he needed to do what he had to do, but he answered the phone. A Christian girl was on the phone and said she really had been meaning to call him for a while, to cut a long story short he handed his destroyed life over to Christ with the girls help and i had the privilege to meet him 5 years ago- a lovely guy now helping others in tough trouble.
I know myself from personal experience that living in a world without Christ will finally finish you as sin in this world chews your life up slowly or quickly(heart mind soul and finally your body) and spits you onto the rubbish heap, then it cheerfully moves onto the next soul without a care in the world.

I had 30 tablets in my stomach one night when in my early twentys, i was a Christian for many years before this happened. I did'nt swallow them for nothing, i wanted out badly from the torture inside. Christ had promised to 'never' leave me nor forsake me when i trusted Him for the very first time: He never did, from that night He has carried me over the years all the way back to safety and restored abundant life to me better than ever before: i now know He bore the worst blows of what i personally should have been feeling after this experience on His cross of pain and death. I was in no danger whatsoever as a Christian that night, even with those tablets inside me: God was on my side, you depart this earth only at His express command, His plans will never be frustated.
The Good News: Christ endured all He suffered even to the point of death because of a massive Joy set before Him from God when He rose from the dead- The Joy of helping people in their pain and healing them and of being able to do billions of beautiful things, filled with His express love, down through the centuries for Mankind, whom He loves more than life itself.

You should have written 'i would go to 'the church' : You can work this out yourself but i will say this: The Church is not a building and never has been and there has only been one Church (a massive 'spiritual super structure' bulit by God, the corner-stone being Christ Jesus), it was planned before the world was created and it has been in the making since the dawn of time.
The Church has always been the 'salt' and 'light' of this world: the salt is slowing down, not stopping, the world's ultimate decay and death and the light makes people feel comfortable and warm when they are sad and lonely or it adds to their joy when they are happy.
The Bible says that the Church (which is not appointed onto wrath) will be taken off this earth before God moves in to judge wickedness, rebellion against Him and sin. During that hellish time the one precious thing you would love to see on this earth would be the 'Church of Jesus Christ': so enjoy the Church and listen to it while you have the privelage of doing so.
I heard of a young teenager getting into serious trouble, he got away out of his depth one weekend. He was terrified out of his wits with the circumstances he was trapped in. He ran out onto the street and ran up and down it shouting 'Is anyone a Christian around here!!?? God had a 'member' of Christ (the Church) out that night in the right place to meet that young man and he recieved the help he needed through Christ (the Head) and (His Body) the Church: He is OK now.
The problem here is if you and enough others around this world say to God that you want the Church to go elsewhere, He could take the Church off this earth.
Be careful what you ask for, you might get it one-day.
The Church will be safe with Christ but what about you ?? To be outside Christ is to be outside God, where is your Soul then: living dead in your sins, cut off from God who is Life and in complete darkness.
'Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come into him, and eat with him, and he with Me.' Rev. 3:20
The Church is not a buliding and never has been so you don't need to be in a 'church' to hear preaching. Check this out yourself in the Bible.
I remember hearing an interviewer on the T.V. asking a minister about what he thought of Prince Charles being appointed head of the Church. I had to laugh because the minister replied, 'First of all Christ is the Head of the Church not Prince Charles......'
The interviewer did'nt know what he was talking about. So there you go.
