that Wing Chun deals with that range were two fighters' hands are stuck in the clinch. The chi-sao sensetivity practice seems very functional as well-in fact we often go over that in JKD. I am not so sure about going into a punching match with one's chin out like that-and the weight on the back foot must make side to side movment hard-Can some one talk about the street use of this art-in a situation do these guys go in with elbows down and face oopen like that?

It looks like a bunch of girls fighting, all they need to do now is grab some hair and it would be perfect.

      • amsterdamdakar Girl Fight by amsterdamdakar, 1179829544 Report sent Spam Reply Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

Wing Chun was invented by a woman according to the legend. The character of Wing Chun is to win without use of much power or brute force. Just be clever.

And btw: you will always lose a fight with a girl. She will just slip some poison in your drink :)

In Wang Kiu's house there is a nice flowerpot on top of his dummy. I like it.

The problem with martial art video's is the same as pr0n movies. You can see it but you can't feel it.

I can assure you that Sifu Wang Kiu is still teaching people Wing Chun.

            • amsterdamdakar Good Point by amsterdamdakar, 1183541221 Report sent Spam Reply Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

You have to feel Wing Chun before you can judge it. And indeed Sifu is still teaching some Seminars. He is doing a Seminar together with the sifu's in the Netherlands and Dr Khoe from Canada on the 8th of July in the Netherlands.

The Wing Chun community knows this is not true. Bruce Lee trained under Wong Shun Leung for some time.

that was weak.. except for the old guy, you were just shoving and slapping each other...this was not post-worthy

Nice trainingvideo, how old is Sifu Wang Kiu now? He has been one of the first students of Grandmaster Yip Man.

              • maxDope dude... by maxDope, 1203410121 Report sent Spam Reply Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

you and the poster are the same guy, right ?...

I know Wong Kiu is in a wheelchair now and his Wing Chun was always mediocre at best. He trained for about 2 years under Yip Man, but mostly with Wong Shun Leung, being YM's assistant.. don't spread these myths we have plenty of those already... Ever saw a picture with Wong Kiu and Yip Man ?

            • jimmysdad What the hell is this? by jimmysdad, 1183545489 Report sent Spam Reply [-1] Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

I'm sorry, but what on earth is this? Supposedly wing chun? you have got to be kidding me!
I detect no structure in their fighting whatsoever, just some mindless bitch-slapping (and that's an insult to bitches imho!).
Footwork? ever heard of a stance? this is an insult to serious wing chun/ving tsun practicioners!
btw, since when does *ing *un use a Kwan Dao?

              • amsterdamdakar Check your history by amsterdamdakar, 1183545896 Report sent Spam Reply Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

This is just an impression of the training. There are advanced people and beginners in this compilation. Of course there is structure in the fighting. There are only a few Sifu's who have learned the Kwan Dao from Yip Man. It is not an important form but only a traditional form for teachers. If you look at the Mainland Wing Chun styles they also have Kwan Dao forms. So Wing Chun uses a Kwan Dao since the beginning of Wing Chun.

              • maxDope Kwan No by maxDope, 1203410444 Report sent Spam Reply Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

The Kwan Do is only taught by Wong Kiu who was trained in some traditional kung fu styles before entering Wing Chun. He introduced it to make up for the lack of 'flashy-ness' in Wing Chun. The Kwan do form has no relation to the principles of Wing Chun, as is easy to see. It has been taken straight from older kung fu styles. Can't hurt to train it, though, it might improve your stance.

            • alfredy to all of you that think this is weak. by alfredy, 1178867524 Report sent Spam Reply [-1] Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

wing chun is not about how strong your punches are, it's about interception and having close combat.
