when lighters and matches just wont work!
With all the crap you have to watch on this site, it sure is nice to see a cool, useful posting like this. Thank you
By makita444 1175990930Wat happens if u leave a 9v battery in your cashmere pocket
By Malice Major E15 1179047191Am I missing something? Are you joking? Cashmere won't conduct, so it won't catch on fire from the battery.
By pauliegone 1179117577not cashmere, steel wool....
great video, very great for survival.
Yes... I normaly bring wool and a battery when i'm lost :)
Jk, It's pretty good.
But the guy didn't light it with the battery, he couldn't so he just stopped the cam, got a lighter and lighted it. :) (Thats why the sticks are moved around).
he lit it with the battery. go try it. i've used this several times while camping since it doesn't require anything but steel wool (you usually have a battery somewhere). It doesn't even have to be a 9v. You can use AA, C, D, etc. Great work keep it up
By energized 1179175354now when someone asks me for a lighter, i'll tell them "no, i only have stell wool and a 9v battery!!!"
nice video!!
but yea im wondering when dont matches work, like when they are wet? well same go for steel wool it wont ignite if its wet. maybe if u RUN OUT of matches and wont have any more lighter fluid and might have some steel wool and a bettery laying around :)
By NickT916 1179154585I have done this with flashlight batteries and it works just as well.
By freemycatfish 1177303134This is pretty old, but it's still a good trick, or it's cool to just watch the steel wool melt (be careful not to touch it, it get friggin hot!)
By Retnuh66 1179801859i put both of it in one case together with my cylinder gas insiden my bagpac when i go camping
By zek75 1176528676or maybe not. it'll probably burn a hole right through
By godsmacked 1182590984so instead of keeping a lighter in my pocket, i'll remember to bring steel wool and battery
By godsmacked 1182590919it's not like they put different chemicals into different batteries.. each batteries has the same function, so i doubt only durecell is the only one that makes it ignite.
By the1number 1179154562if you can choose what to carry on you in case of getting lost or in a survival situation, i would not carry a 9volt battery and steel wool, yes it does work but a lighter is a thousand more times more practical, so i would rather carry a lighter and a small bottle of camper fuel. if you are camping, you won't have steel wool unless you actually bring some with you to try this out.
By explosive_antix_inc 1192065319any 6 year old boy scout knows how to make a fire without matches or a lighter. maybe next time you'll should have a video of how to turn on the t.v. without a remote.at least that will be a tiny bit interesting.
By 112358ricky 1182468519I don't know if i'll be having some steel wool and a 9 volt battery when à go surviving... But still nice trick
By mnkyball 1182016014Kool, we learned this in school a while ago, but still great video!
By Gamerpro 1179023013i find quicker matches and a lighter that that wool and will be cheaper, i don't think most stores sell wool, i'm sure they sell matches or a lighter unless you find wool and batteries in the woods.
By lucian7j 1179022059great clip,
I hope to get more of these knowledge around
if i did not have a lighter or match do you think that am gona have 12v battery ...
but it is batter than nothing , thanks anyway
i learned about this in scouts. i used to linght my cigs this way when i didnt have a lighter or match.
By thewiseguy89 1176076058is it easier when you can buy both at the store. is it too complicated for you? turn battery upside down, touch steel wool. how hard is that?
By dcfreedom 1175992211check this out

By 1337pwnage 1180837366cmon dude lets light a fire...
aww i forgot my lighter.. wait hold on lemme get out my 9v battery and steel wool.
this seems practical......... NAT!
How come there's comments dated for April?
By justbob09 1179022424or with a shtty battery and you could have yourself an explosion covering your face and hands in sulfuric acid
By slipperyJ 1176820209I would have never thought of that thanks,,,that might come in handy one of these days
