The Right Stuff...
...the orange plane is a copy of the Bell X1... what Chuck Yeager flew to break the sound barrier (named "Glamorous Glennis" after his wife), and just like in the movie, was carried to altitude and then dropped. This was a very cool reinactment. You can see the original in the Smithsonian.

Wow. I remember pulling this off with my Uncle in Chicago, during the '70s - my Dad died when I was five. Twin-engined North American B25 Mitchell bomber. The point is, this stuff is STILL going on! Model Work. Whether it is HO Scale trains or Cox-engined model-craft. These ARE Cox-engined model-craft, yes? Whateva. Way Cool. Stephen.

  This plane, those people, that hobby shop (Hodges Hobbies) are located in Americus, Georgia. The website is www. hodgeshobbies. com. There are directions there if you are fairly local and want to visit. My dad works there, and we do concessions for all of the big fly-ins/meets (3-4 a year).
