- salt peter....
  salt peter is Potassium Nitrate, KNO3. Its used is most plant fertilisers or stump removers, anything like that.
  
  Need to be careful when heating it tho. If you heat it for too long on the stove it will self-ignite and can be pretty dangerous, always heat it on a low heat/small flame. Good video, very well explained.
