By Anti-Gov 1141935883 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWould it be so bad to just leave the commentary on the track? Contrary to some opinions, the majority of fight fans don't give a sh*t about this sort of music. The other sports videos on this site tend to have the original commentary, what's the problem with no holds barred?

By OneLargeMouthAss 1139036420 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewe all know europeans [excluding britains] are a bunch of spineless little socialist girls, and are therefore irrelevant. blah, blah, blah you snot-nosed, panty waist euro crybabies.
the real issue with this video, and what everyone else has missed, is the shitty, repugnant music. what's with the "oh, pitiful me. i hate the world" metal? such beautiful brutality deserves something more refined from one of the classical masters, not simpish "i wish everyone would die" guitar crashing crap.
not panty waist, tough guy
By shanger 1142209453 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeverify this in any reputable dictionary. i will conceed, however, it is one word, and should have been used in the adjective(al) form, 'pantywaisted.' and i'm not so tough. i've had my ass kicked too. it S**ks bad.

By FlanceBaine 1140493603 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe song is "Hey man, Nice Shot" and the band is Filter...the song was released circa 1995, before Filter's drummer toured with the smashing pumpkins after their drummer killed the keyboardist with a Heroin OD.
By revoman 1142368033 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe song was written after the lead singer saw some random guy commit suicide. "That's why I say hey man...NICE SHOT."

By falloutboy 1139051172 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt is little wonder that we have kids in school yard killing each other when we view this as entertainment worthy of being broadcast on the net so easily. Another yankee contribution to the problems of the world.
By David22 1137666375 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat was one of the most stupid comment's yet. You call a legal sport another Yankee contribution to the world's problem's. How dumb considering you Limey's can't even go to a football game anywhere in the world without causing a riot or attacking the other team's spectator's or burning busses. You have even been banned from other countries. What a fine example for your kid's. Wake up, grow up, and shut up.
By canman 1137944245 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis is big in other parts of the world as well.... ie japan. i'm not a huge fan of it or anything but i think it's pretty cool that trained martial arts fighters, boxers, and street fighters can go toe-to-toe with one another.
By hoosteady 1139011640 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThis Type of fighting I believe dates back to the Gladiator's during the Roman Impire and not an "American Sport". If my history books are correct, it was the European's coming into this country in the 1800's who brought over bar nuckle boxing, beer, gambling and prostitution. Bash USA all you want but if it wasn't for us you would be living in West Germany right now...DICK!
By americanjock30 1138985018 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewhat the hell are you talkin about??? this is Mixed Martial Arts fighting. has nothing to do with no Romans and gladiators. it did start out as crazy cage fighting, but it evolved with more strict rules and people from around the world came to the cage with different styles of fighting. and oh yea. DONT MISS UFC 57! feb 4th on ppv.
By Dukester 1139009221 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI wasn't speaking about mixed martial arts, I was talking about 2 guys beating the crap out of each other will spectators watched and bet on the winner. I know all about mixed martial arts, I have studied 2 different forms along with boxing and wrestling. But I love the cut throat attitude on Metacafe...keep up the good work keeping people honest.

By 360 1138990796 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeare not so much antiamericans ! but we watch many US movies on TV and it shows us lots of violence, so many of us have an opinion on USA based only on TV
I personnaly like your culture but not your president
I prefer Japan' K1 rather than UFC or Pryde
I'm really getting tired of European "intellects" making completely uninformed posts on internet boards wherever I go, then somehow finding a way to turn every argument into anti Americanism.
MMA, while still somewhat underground in North America, is a completely mainstream sport in Japan. And I would consider the Japanese overall smarter than most Europeans. Also less violent as a culture than most in the world.
Why did you guys always tried to invade Korea and China for millennium since the old times, and have invaded at WWII? F**k you! You guys were just like Nazists killing whole lot of people and also made biological tests with humans... now the Japs school history book always wanted to cover that up, so a S**t like you can fuckin S**ts like this!
By santocki 1138998963 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'll agree, the US did some pretty fucked up stuff during WWII, especially the bombing of Nagasaki, but it's not like every single major country in Europe hasn't committed atrocities at one time or another, so I wouldn't be talking. Anyway, I don't see how this has anything to do with what I was saying. Japan has an interesting culture, full of hard-working, intelligent people, and they can also enjoy their combat sports without being inspired to commit mass acts of violence. What I'm saying is, I don't see anything wrong with boxing, MMA, kickboxing, etc, as long as the athletes are protected and the fights are fair--they're professionals, and they know what they're getting into when they enter the ring. People who have a problem with the violence or whatever need to just chill the F**k out and watch something else.

By ruffredneck 1138991281 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI seen this stuff before on tv, but doese anyone know if its set up and fake like the wrestling WWF? There is alot of stunt people out there that can easily make fighting look real. I mean Cmon why dont you see these guys with busted jaws, broken hand and concusions, even death. When they boxed bare knuckles in the 40`s people got killed, and were braindead all the time, thats why they wear gloves now. Im not saying its fake but doese anyone got some insight for me, im new to this kinda sport. Why is it a law to wear gloves in boxing in the us and not in these fighting matches? It contridicts itself... Anyone?
By ruffredneck 1138983790 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBareknuckle boxing had been completely banned long before the '40s.
By Podslapper 1139255485 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThese things are totally real. If you ever watched the earlier tournaments you would see ALOT of blood, broken knuckles, broken nose, dislocated shoulders, pulled knee tendents, gettting shoked uncounsious, and few would have their heads bashed to littlerly a bloody pulp. The new tournaments make them wear gloves cause in the earlier days people kept breaking their hands and wrists when they would strike the head. And you can't use regular boxing gloves cause you cant grab and wrestle with them. I would imagine the reason no one dies in these things is besause i am sure the rules and regulations are much more strict than in the 40's. I mean if a guy appears to be unable to fight anymore then they imediatly break it up. And there are always EMT's and doctors right next to the ring ready to help. Plus not to mention they don't just let any moron in to fight. You have to prove to the judges you know what you are doing in their. Also in the earlier tournaments there was NO weight classes. There would be guys 6 ft 6inches tall weighing in at 400 lbs against a 6 ft 200lb man. And many times the little guy would kick the big guys ass. I know the new ones have blood and good fighting. But, I remember i was 15 when i saw the very first tournament on pay per view. And the new ones just don't compare in my opion. i noticed quite a few of the knockouts were from the earlier tournaments. i could probably name about 3/4 of the fighters they show. But, I would have to say that the best thing they did to change it was when they know longer let some grappler just lie there holding their opponent for 30 minutes to tire them out and then choking them to win. Really didn't care much for Royce Gracie because of that.
By leoric45 1139112263 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe main idea of the gloves were introduced to protect the knuckles, not the heads? That is why the old boxing stance was different from today...
By santocki 1138999744 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou're absolutely right here. Gloves were meant to protect the hands, not the head. Try hitting a heavy bag a few times with your bare knickles, then try it again while wearing gloves. You'll find you're willing to throw harder punches when your hands are protected.
It's also the reason that bareknuckle bouts in the late 19th century lasted as many as 70 rounds--guys just weren't willing to hit that hard until gloves came along. When John L. Sullivan said he wore gloves "to protect his opponents", he knew damned well he was lying. It was so he could hit harder than they could.
When I was training taekwondo as a kid, I got kicks to the stomach a some to the head.... it knocks you out! That is why the referee now stops the fight before it gets serious hurt! Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Silvia did got his arm broken... but in the old days, I bet they just keep fightin without a lot of rules like today... causing deaths and serious injuries.
By santocki 1138999381 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI've competed in a lower ranked, unknown form of UFC and trust me its not fake. I didn't find out I lost until I woke up 3mins later on a stretcher.
