when you downloaded it, it may have not multiplayer
heres how u get it:
right click on the halo icon and click on
"Run as administrator"
select multiplayer
it will say "An Update is Available"
update it
you now have halo multiplayer!

No Text or people you killed problem:

1. Exit "Halo: Combat Evolved."
2. Click Start, click Run, type msiexec /regserver in the Open box, and then click OK.
3. Repeat step 2 for each of the following commands:
* regsvr32 msxml4.dll
* regsvr32 msxml3.dll
* regsvr32 msxml2.dll
* regsvr32 msxml.dll 3
4. Restart the computer, and then restart the game.
