About the multiple shot.
I checked it and if that is what he did, he is a great editor because the streaming is way to smooth. You can see the material taking it's 3D shape, in just a second and then you can see it loose it, (when it's entirely dried) in a second too. so, for me it's real. :p

not fake, completely real...
...but it's a well known effect in physics. it's got to do with surface tension of the liquids. doesn't require any "technology". just find the right paper and shape, add some water, and wait at least for minutes for evaporation (as you can see it, this video is time elapsed).

- this is not a spoof video
  it is real and factual. The material you see is much smaller than a contact lens and contact lenses do not fold into pre designed shapes on contact with water.
