    I have had 2 rottweilers in my life and 1 pit mix and 1 full bred pit! I would hate to get bitten by either!! The pit does have a strong bite, but they win more fights and things because of their locking jaw. The rott...I'm telling ya...I've seen their jaws in action. They can eat through ANYTHING!!! That's just pure crushing power! Imagine that power with the locking jaw?...BAD DOG!

      pitbulls actually do not have lock jaws. the muscles that enable it to hold its bite are stronger than other dogs. but a trained pitbull will release on command and if they locked this would be impossible.

      normally 40 50 lbs otherwise they do have some that are larger but what they don;t tell you is that something else is mixed with it to make it bigger for example mammoth pit bulls weigh 130 lbs so that is not a pure breed pit bull especially according to the AKC

    I can't believe some of the statements here. The video proves that pit bulls do NOT have the strongest bite force. They also do NOT have locking jaws. The average pit bull type dog IS around 45 to 65 lbs and IF bigger the other part of "the mix" is more dominant.

    The reason WHY they are "the chosen" by dogfighters is because they are LEAST likely to turn on their handlers.

      Now to put things into prespective here; an average pit bull type dog weighs in around 65 pounds and is normally around 3 to 4 feet long.
