how to clean a cd with a old toothbrush and toothpaste
I had a Windows Office CD that had been in a box for awhile and was scratched bad and wouldn't download. I used toothpaste in the same manner, only I used the middle-to-out motion (without toothbrush) and it worked perfectly. Note: if your CD/DVD is scratched on the top or label side, you're out of luck.
