4/19 @ 1:30 PM, Davos & Alpine. I saw this moose charging accross the Alyeska Highway and followed it into the neighbourhood to get a better look. She'd been hit by a car or injured in some other way, but was obviousely strong enough to charge around like a mad thing. Please be careful around the Alaskan mega fauna!

    and as for the bare patches of fur. They're probably due to rubbing up against trees as territory/scent markings.

      It does appear to be wounded. I figured it had either been hit by a vehicle; attacked by a spring bear, wolf or dog; or the most unfortunate possibility: that it had been shot with some amazingly poor marksmanship and judgment, by an incredibly ignorant hunter.

    You can see that she's favoring the back leg so she got hurt somehow....as for the black marks, she could have been injured at some other time. I'm from Alaska and we see moose like this all the time. It's not always from a car, but possibly a bear. And it's not a gunshot either. She'd be bleeding.

    He looks like he is trying to express his disatisfaction for being taped without his written consent ....... He probably believes that he is being exposed and he feels that he will not be able to receive what is due to him financially . He is a stud and any stud has a purpose to serve in this world ....... Dancing was the least of his concerns .....

    It looks to me like it was mauled by a grizly bear that got it from behind with a paw on each side of the Moose and tore of skin and hair with its claws just the same way you see Lions attack their Quarry.
