Today we are going to install part number 75526 from Draw-Tite. We are going to install this class III receiver hitch on a 2007 Lincoln MKX. First off we will show you where the hitch gets mounted onto the vehicle. Its going to get mounted onto frame members that are right now currently hidden behind the exhaust and a couple of heat shields that need to be cut off to make room for the hitch itself. We will cut out room where the bolts come through the frame. This section right here where a tab goes into the frame will need to be cut out so our hitch hardware can be installed. And again it will be identical on both sides. All right we will get started by lowering the exhaust. These rubber hangers here will need to be sprayed with lubricant so they will be easier to get off. Before we lower the exhaust we are actually going to go ahead and put a safety strap underneath here so we can control the exhaust as we lower it, it will not just go falling down. See how we can control it? All right the next thing we are going to do is just disconnect the bracket here, its going to be simply pushed up out of the way and the screws can be re-installed. The reason we have to do this is to have more clearance for our hitch install. All right lets go ahead and take down the heat shields and get them ready to trim up. All right you can see a little easier how we have the heat shield marked out for clearance. So lets go ahead and use some tin snips and just cut it out. At this point we can go ahead and re-install the shields. When we re-install the heat shield these two fasteners we are going to leave off because what will happen is the hitch will actually sandwich it in place. We will go ahead and do the in board fasteners and get those tightened down. When you get done trimming the main thing you want to look out for is make sure you have room for your hardware in this hole right here. Now you can start installing your hardware. We are going to use this wire pull, or bolt leader that comes with the kit and install it in the hole we are going to use here, and go all the way out to the end of the frame to install our hardware and pull it back through. Do that on all four parts. At this point we are going to install the hitch, it is kind of awkward so it is a good idea to have an extra set of hands to get up there so you do not push the bolts into the frame. Okay just a couple of nuts to hold the hitch into place, then we can install the rest of the hardware. All right at this point we can go ahead and snug down our bolts on the hitch. And then we will turn around and torque them down as specified in the instructions. Go ahead and put our exhaust back up. Take the strap off. And there you have it for part number 75526 from Draw-Tite.
