and please forgive my ignorance but just going by body language and facial expressions, it looked to me like he had a smile on his face and was rejoicing in God. Not unlike some churches that I have attended. The congregation feels the 'power of the Lord' fill them and they wave their arms and 'talk in tongues'. Some hit themselves, condolence for their sins or for whatever reason. There are even churches that carry poisonous snakes wrapped around themselves.
But whatever it is, it seems to be universal. Put aside all of man's interpretations and 'readings between the lines', and the foundation's, the BASICS of every religion...BE NICE TO ONE ANOTHER. One road may be right for you and a different one is right for me, but all roads lead to the same destination. May your road be a happy one and may you enjoy your journey.
World has many different religions, and it's just reality that they have different practices. No use trying to judge whether they are right or wrong, what seems right to you may seem absurde for someone on the other side of the world. We should just learn to have some respect for others... on the other side, it's true that Muslims are almost always on TV, but that's only because there's a delicate political situation in that particular area.

The title here (from the submitter, A OTHMAN, I presume) says it's in Iran, but you say it's not. Then just where is it? He's obviously a Shia Mullah, preaching from the Minbar in a Shia Mosque. If this is recent (no date given), he could be getting psyched up for the upcoming Ashura, a commemoration of Imam Hussein's murder. But that was almost 1400 years ago! Is he taking it personally? And who are the guys carrying him off? Can anybody understand a word of what he's saying?
