Today on this 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan we are going to install part number 87719, this will also apply to Draw-Tite part number 75305. The hitch is going to use these two bolts as attaching points here and those will get reused and also this bolt back here, that gets taken out and that one will be reused. This will be identical on both sides of the vehicle. Next we can start installing the hitch. What is going to happen is that one arm of the hitch is going to have to start on top of the leaf spring and then we will rotate the hitch to where we get the other half of the hitch over the other spring and then bring it back parallel with the bumper and then bring it back. At this part you will definitely need an extra set of hands to install. 00:44

We are just going to use the one bolt now just to hold everything in place and that will help us hold the hitch up while we do the other two bolts towards the bumper. Now we have our hitch temporarily installed. What you do next is leave the bolts a little loose so you can move the hitch around and then start the bolts that go inside there. The bolts that go towards the front of the vehicle, we will remove those and then between the bolt head and the hitch itself it gets a block. We will reinstall the bolt with that block. Once we have all of our bolts started, now snug them all down. Once they are all snugged down we can torque them all down as specified in the instructions. From the top of the receiver hitch down to the ground is going to be 12 inches and then from the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper is about 3-1/ 2 inches. With that, that finishes our install of part number 87719.
