FlatWire is a technology, not a product. It's an innovative new approach to wiring that will change the way consumers, designers and contractors think about home makeover and renovation and its applications are global.

Install a pair of sconces on either side of the master bed; "float" a flat screen TV; easily add a surround sound system or new home theatre all without breaking through walls to hide bundles of unsightly wires and cables.

FlatWire is a paper-thin wire that adheres flat to the surface of walls or ceilings and becomes virtually invisible when covered with paint or wallpaper. No costly, time-consuming in-wall install. Do-it-yourself or have it done. It's that simple.

This revolutionary new wiring technology removes many of the physical barriers to renovation caused by existing wiring systems.

  • isnt that risky??

  • Audio/Video and Low Voltage

As has been noted above, the current electrical applications are Low Voltage in nature.

Our other product groups of Audio and Video contain most applications you can think of.

As far as 110v and other higer voltage electrical applications, we are currently undergoing UL, NEC, and other code testing and approval processes.

Note NEC Article 382 (scroll down page) revision for 2008 here, which links to Figure 7 - a picture of our 120v:

  • Tesla Coil

Ever heard of one? A long time ago Nikola Tesla had a better idea and pulled it off. Now noone knows how he made wireless power. Too bad, but I'll settle for flatwire.

    By Christo_the_Valiant 1177984716
  • Pretty cool...

But what if you want to move your tv or other appliance after you've installed it? You gotta rip out all the wire, paint over the ripped out part, reglue the wire on...too much work. Thats why there are cords. Cuz they are portable.

    • i agree!!!

  • Now thats.....

A great product and idea. I hate seeing wires everywhere!!

What I did not get from the video is whether it only works on low voltage electronics or if it's possible to use on tv's etc?

Looking forward to 'hiding' my untidy wires....

Someone knocks something over and there goes your cable until you can get a replacement wire.

  • local codes and 110 / 240 volt AC ?

They talk only about low volyage.
No way to run a 110 ac window shaker.
    What about local codes ?
A way for security wiring ?
Hope no one trashes the walls with a knife !

    By bdpf1 1177570525
    • What the F**k ?! :D

While I'm sure I enjoy watching infomercials as little as you do, I thought only one thing while reading your comment. How F**king often do your walls get trashed by dudes/chicks with knives!? :D

      By RandomWordsGoHere 1177580542
    • not really !

As a father of 5 wonderfull and hyperly active kids, trust me this product is prone to make any wall abit hazardous area for children!

I would think twice before I attemp to used it :)

      By McHumanBeing! 1177610518
    • Kids!

Actually, one draw we have found selling is for families - you do not have to worry about young children and rooms full of Audio/Video and/or Low Voltage wiring.

You can run it as you please along the wall. Ie - towards the bottom, eye level, near the ceiling, you won't see it once concealed.
