- the barrel size
  a 4 gauge shotguns' barrel is 3 times larger than a 12 gauge. That's HUGE. (the bigger the number, the smaller the barrel).

Yeah, that's my question,
I have a 4 and 1 Ga left to me by my dad. The four I could almost see using for larger game. But the one is like an anti aircraft gun-what did you old guys hunt with these? And what sort of hootch did you drink after to kill the pain? This video was cool and made me a little homesick----5 stars!

  They fired about a 1.5 inch in diamiter lead ball, that weigs about a pound.. and from looking it up, they were used to hunt geese in scotland... poor birdys...
