Dermal Fillers – New Orleans Plastic Surgeon Explains the Differ

Individuals who are unhappy with how their face has aged may opt for non-invasive facial injectables. At the practice of New Orleans plastic surgeon Dr. H. Devon Graham III, dermal fillers such as Perlane ®, Restylane ®, Radiesse ®, and collagen are used to reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and creases. Both are made up of hyaluronic acid, a chemical naturally found in the body, Perlane and Restylane can be injected with a vastly reduced risk of allergic reaction or infection. Results can last up to 12 months.

Deeper creases in the face, such as the nasolabial folds, are usually treated with Radiesse, which is composed of tiny microspheres of calcium hydroxlapatite that is suspended in a biodegradable carrier gel. Patients may anticipate a more youthful appearance with results lasting up to five years. Collagen can be used for fine lines around the mouth; results last a few months.

Addition information on injectable fillers is available on Dr. Graham’s website.
