By pimp_myster 1198366101 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewill this work with earbud earphones.(like the ones that come with ipod)
By D-wreck 1180654516 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removejust put on the earbuds and then on the earmuffs, u got urself a noisecancelling headset!:D

I never thought about it, but thats the best money saving idea ever!!! I wish i didn't buy my Bose Noise Canceling Headphones v.2. waste of 210$!
By Silent Civilian 1185947803 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeare people rating this so low? This is an amazing idea.
By -Razor- 1177866852 Reply Spam [+8] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe guys who rated it low are the ones who spent hundreds of dollars on sennheiser earphones before seeing this.
By sugarsirotherham 1183496181 Reply Spam [+3] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSeinheisers are expensive because they don't just physically cancel out noise, they emit this electronic pulse, that's why it gets quieter, because that sound blocks out other sounds.
By FoxMcWeezer 1177817520 Reply Spam [+8] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBecause the ones I got here are able to turn on and off. A red LED comes on when it's on.
By FoxMcWeezer 1177867322 Reply Spam [+5] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you're interested in passive noise canceling, the HD280 from Sennheiser reduces ambient noise by 33 dB. Also, they sound phenomenal. The price point is $100, well below active noise-canceling headphones. You can get them for $80 if you wait for a sale.
By yappahgo 1177993420 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou my friend are a genius, I love your videos

By torrentspy 1177973662 Reply Spam [+3] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebut it is not ok if u are a musician or a sound engineer as you need those sound quality from the earphone like seinheiser, shure or ultimate ears.

You're My HeRo :P
By Banamaru 1177892781 Reply Spam [+3] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAnother great idea. Great reverb
By bonggi 1177860535 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI can't believe I have never thought of this! If they only made noise canceling headphones cheaper, we wouldn't have to do this...we should start making these and selling them, so people stop buying the expensive headphones.
By casemods 1198037700 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeduuude all your things..i know how to do most of them lol! but still u actually put em on metacafe anyway props
By ilovea10yearold 1197937762 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewhy dont you make an xray vision glasses that could see thru clothes
ill bet 5 stars for it
hey kip, big fan but gotta tell ya, thats an old one. we did much the same on flights overseas in the military.
By bigmonkeyballs 1195130325 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI did not evan think to do this
By Satankin 1193360708 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI bought some AU$10 headphones, installed them in the exact earmuffs (AU$25), and they work surprisingly well. If there's a radio in the background, it won't eliminate it entirely, but I can now listen to quieter music and not be too bothered. Chatter is reduced to be still audible, but you can't really tell what they are saying.
However, I do wear glasses (thin frame) and the pads on the earmuffs do press them in tightly, even after adjustment of the earmuffs. I took my glasses off and found them to be far more comfortable. Another reason to get laser surgery. :)
Thanks for the video!
thanks Kipkay...I found NRR 34 by PYRAMEX on ebay for $15, can't wait to get them
By ag7k 1192259457 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat video is from cnettv.com
By rimlanin 1192007057 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveKipkay is da man, as always!!!
By UbarFubar 1191879780 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removegreat idea, but these aren't noise canceling headphones, they're just noise reducing...
By Chris.A 1191503728 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI have done this before with a set of gunshot earmuffs and the earbud sized headphones that came with my Mp3 player.
I just put in the buds and put on the earmuffs over them.
I was able to cut my lawn without having to get a pair of larger louder headphones.
That's not noise canceling, that's noise blocking. Noise canceling earphones send out negative sound waves against the soundwaves the noise makes, so it cancels out.
By Luxordo5 1187667567 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhen I saw this genius idea, I went to Home Depot too see the earmuffs there, and there was a 21Db one, and i got confused with the ratings, does this mean this cancels more or less than 23Db?
By Cristian1337 1186982335 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTO think i was $10 away from saving up for those Noise Canceling Gaming Headsets....
By Cristian1337 1186965499 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat is seriously clever.
By hudge 1186631080 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThank you for this video. I made these today and they work wonderfully, especially when mowing the lawn!! It was tough finding the earmuffs, but Cabelas.com finally had them. Thank goodness; thanks Kipkay
By nick1414 1184375455 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeim a huge fan of your videos kipkay, but i just wanted to add that possibly the reason the sennheiser earphones cost so much more is that they are of much higher sound quality than the other ones you used. anyways i really liked it, like all of your other vids
By HungarianMofo3692 1182523720 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeif u sold the stuff u dont need any more once u make it out of toothpics and marsh mellows

By french apollo 1181674635 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveTHIS IS COOL IDEA
By asia_stone 1181037567 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI made this and it works soo well. I use them when I mow and it helps past the time when your listening to music.
By mikes289 1180994724 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeu are too cool
By smilensmile 1180795933 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat many people don't realize is that noise canceling often treats audio as "noise" and reduces its quality significantly. So $170 for headphones that make my muzak sound like it's coming from an answering machine with a pillow over it? No thanks! This passive solution is much better.
By audiophile 1180726800 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeon how to save money if everyone knew about all ur money saving tips they'd proubably would save at least a few thousand dollars

By plasticwood 1178209042 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeam really wondering how you come up with these ideas.youre great man
Your are the Kip ma kay :P
By zsniper 1178044168 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeill definitely make 1!!!
By Big16 1177970818 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove... but still, I would guess, pretty effective
By Toak Reon 1177945313 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI don't mean to be a dick about this, but that's not an acutal "noise canceling" headphone. That's not how noise cancelation work. But it is a good idea. The only thing is that you may have a cheap pair of headphones that blocks out a good ammount of abient noise, but the quality isn't comparable to the pcx250. If yo dont mind paying $170, it's better off to get the sennheiser.
By cong123 1177906708 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveBtw... Works with Mic's too if u got a drill... =D
By Rapture47 1177890478 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveKip.. you NEVER cease to Amaze me... like the idiots on here... scept your better =) Was just reading ur Acetone in Gas and commenting.... good work on that too... =)
By Rapture47 1177890416 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou're like my freakin' video IDOL.
By princessballbuster 1177887639 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat's all nice, and I believe those are quieter, but you just can't compare the quality of a $20 headphones with the quality of a Senheissers!
By Boki4u 1177886933 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei think this is a great idea, because i have the same pair of noise cancelling headphones like you purchased, they're nice and everything, but this is great, thanks kipkay :-)
By Funnyman33 1177883001 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyou can make some cash on meta then buy the $150 ones
By tiwx 1177863998 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMore misinformation.. Your headphones don't cancel the noise but they dampen it.
These expensive ones use a microphone and a circuit to flip the wave of the noise outside and create destructive interference.. another method would be to actually build your self the circuit that they use in those headphones..
And just for outside information... check polarity on your speakers if youve wired them yourself.. having wrong polarity can also create this destructive interference and cancel out all that bass that you wish you had..
i am definitely doin it, (partly because i cant afford the senheiser/bose noise canceling headphones) but the only other reason why is the sound quality is so much better, there is just no comparison even with it being much more quiet
By god.favored 1208496750 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removein ear earbud instead, it's way smaller and much much better sound quality.
By Serenity878 1204252869 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHe man this is a great tutorial! I did it and they work great. I'm deffinitly recomending this one to anybody who needs some peace and quiet.
By deathshadow391 1204243595 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThese are not noise-cancelling headphones. They are noise attenuating headphones, which are a completely different animal. If you tried to sell these as noise-cancelling headphones you'd get sued (and lose) because they do not actively cancel noise, they passively attenuate it.
By foobarbaz 1202563727 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewow dude your really good at what you do i made some of these for my electric drum set and guitar and their sweet good thing i didnt spend $170 mine only cost like $5 to make because i already have those earmuffs
By jaredhanneman 1198822409 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you don't like the quality with a little pair of cheap headphones just use a better kind, like I did with a good kind that snapped in half. This isn't magic trick, you don't have to do it exactly how he does it.
By Conarti 1191986392 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou Kipkay for President.....
By ritardo 1190904143 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis is not that hard to do. this is something I actually can do, lots of your films can be kind of hard to do, and to find the stuff. not all of them, but some!
