This car is on display at bristol motor speedway. You see a hockey player get checked into the boards and he hits a door that is not quite closed this is the same thing the car hit an entrance for pedesterens to cross the track.

I was there
It happened at Bristol Motor Speedway(BMS) in Tennessee. The guy was practicing for the BUSCH race. Where he hits the wall, there is a Gate. It was left unlocked (luckly),so the impact of the crash was thaken thru the gate as it swung open. the guy raced the next day.

It's a God Thing
The car was destroyed and the driver was totally exposed to the oncoming race car.
Yet,it hits the car six inches from where it would have surely killed the guy.
Guardian angels in tractortrailer loads,I'd say..

  Stock cars are not and were never made of fiberglass. They are made of sheet aluminum. It doesn't matter because if you slam a car at 120 MPH into an open gate on a concrete wall, it doesn't matter what metal your car is made of, it's going to end up in pieces. The driver was very fortunate.
