installation instructions and specs for complete information.
Today on this 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118473 from Tow Ready. The first thing we are going to do is clean out our trunk and remove the threshold cover and cargo trays. To remove the threshold here we are going to have to remove these screws t hat are holding it in position along with the 10 millimeter bolt in the center. Then we will pop the rivets off. :30
Next we are gong to take out these 10 millimeter bolts out from our cargo tie downs. Next we are going to take off the driver side and just pop off the rivets on our side trunk plastic here. After we pop those rivets off you will see these plastic rivets here that are holding in our carpet. We are actually going to pop those off and then we will remove the plastic latch that holds on our side cargo cover on, it should pop right out like that. Then we are going to remove the 10 millimeter cargo tie down here. You are going to want to do the same on both sides. 1:03
To get access to the wiring harness behind the tail light we are going to unplug that white connector that is our wiring connector for our tail light. The connector we are going to be connecting is going to be the yellow, brown, and white wire, which is going to be the driver side, we are going to connect that to the connector. Before we run the rest of our wire we are going to take our ground here and attach it to the inside to this sheet metal here. It looks like there is already a ground here so we are going to remove this bolt here and use that as a ground as well. Before we put our modulite box in position we are going to clean off a spot for it that is going to be out of the way. We will take our modulite box and put it in position using the adhesive double sided tape. Then we are going to take our four pole wiring connector and run it down, underneath the plastic here and pull it out and leave it in the trunk compartment for now. The green and red wire that we are going to be running to the passenger side tail light is going to run underneath the plastic. But with this one we are going to run it underneath the trunk lining to the other side. 2:32
Now we are going to go to the passenger side and connect our connectors just like we did on the driver side. Now that we have our wiring harness all plugged in we are going to put back together our trunk. As you can see we have our trunk back together, now we are going to show you how to store and use your wiring harness. Pull back your trunk liner here. As you can see on the drivers side there is a cargo pouch, lift that up, and you can see that is where we are going to be storing our wiring harness. When you want to use it, just pull it out and make sure you keep it away from the center latch so you do not smash your wires. You can next close your trunk and you can still pull out your harness to whatever length you need. When you want to store it, pull it back in, put it in your pouch, put your lid back on, and put down your carpet. As you can see, you can not even see it. This will complete the installation for part number 118473 from Tow Ready on this 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe.
