It is possible to use literally any headphone as a microphone. We seldom carry microphones with us, so in case of an emergency use this method to speak to ur friends using a headphone.

What?
I don't see the point, the device works because it already has a microphone. It is a speaker and mic (from the looks of it) I've put speaker jacks in the mic input before and always all I hear is static, or nothing at all.
Can you explain if there's something I missed? My headphones aren't working like that.

this is OLD stuff
earphones are virtually identical to microphones. i did this about 10 years ago.

You can also use a mic as an earphone, but the sound is VERY faint.
