innovative .. imaginative .. well demonstrated .. for those who cannot bear to part with a book ... use your imaginations .. this transfers to other materials which is its very own beauty ....

    • Has anyone thought about

usng a transparent plastic bookshelf? Save a book which has to be used and subsequently damaged.

    • Great idea

and totally not good enough. Transparent is different than invisible and the whole idea of this is that the shelf be invisible. Why suggest some crappy alternative? A regular goddamn shelf would work too. You can buy a book for about 50 cents at a garage sale too. It's a great idea whose beauty is in the details. And to answer you question, yes, transparent shelves have been though of a thousand times already. So shaddup!

  • I love books!

Sometimes for creative purposes sacrifices must be made. I am kinda dismayed by some of the negative comments. I'm even more surprised my video is almost to a 3 rating. Is it really that bad?

I paid $1 for the book used in the video at a garage sale. I paid $25 for it new in a bookstore. So if someone were to want to read it I can offer it to them in hardback and paperback.

I do love books! I also like making things.

This is so cool and unique. I especially like the idea of putting one in the kitchen with cookbooks! The instructions were clear and concise...I wonder if this guy is a teacher?

  • Neat

This is a really good idea. And there are hundreds of crummy books (mostly by politicians) out there that could serve no better purpose.

  • Very nice!

Why buy a bookshelf to 20$ when you could make one yourself?

A bookshelf made out of books! GENIOUS!

5 stars for you my friend! My innovative carpenter-friend saw this with me, and he started making one right away! :P He thought it was fantastic! :)

    Got any more ??

    By Chief22 1180384093
  • Neat!

I love books too - but the idea of an earlier poster about making a fake book and putting a jacket cover on it is a better idea I think - still looks very neat, I really like this idea!

    THINKING

    By LOLA_1986 1181112540
  • Goodness.....

Ok I am not a hater, and I'm just saying I don't think it is AMAZING. It is just OK. Normal bookshelfs look more neat and clean.

    By Lovely19 1179455329
  • Interesting.........

Why not get a regular bookshelf?

    By Lovely19 1179262752
    • Regular bookshelf

I have some of those, but this is the coolest by far!

Again, hit a garage sale, go to used bookstores, I bet you find something for a dollar or two that would make a great conversation piece.

Use your imagination! It's just a book, one I have another copy of to boot.

    NO WAY dude!!!

    By Shabri 1178875202
  • OH great....

next time someone comes over and wants to read the book thats mysteriously floating there, they rip a big hole in the sheet rock!

    By x_halcyon_x 1178578515
    • I can't believe

that someone is concerned with a person coming over wanting to read a book that is screwed to the wall.

My gosh, are you really THAT boring? my friends come over to visit me NOT read my books.

      :-)

      By Neigh 1178860968
    • are you telling me

that you don't pick up an interesting book when you see one at your friends house? or do your friends not know how to read

      By x_halcyon_x 1178930509
  • why

why to destroy a book when u can use normal bookshelfs... you can do it greater than an "invisible one ... and you don't damage a poor book...

    By bam_toy 1178494051
    • Reply to Why

Ya, hate to ruin a book, but it's one I will never read again and I got it on sale. :-)

You can find hardbacks cheap just about anywhere, the trick is finding one that reflects something about yourself and will be interesting too look at. Right now I am looking for some cookbooks to do one in the kitchen.

Only the shelf book is ruined, the ones on top can be taken off to be read anytime.
