why dont u try to put this ballon in another one that may isolate the temperature of the environment where the ballon is,that may reduce the shine of the ballon but at least u solved a problem .

You're going to need to stick a resistor in there to stop your LED from pulling too much amperage... Three LEDs (R, G, B) plus a crossfader would give you a pretty nice colour-shifting effect too.

It would be a very nice decoration for Christmas to put outside your house (of course, if you have cold winter. And by saying cold I mean at least -1 C). Just it would be more practical to make ice shaped like a cone that one could easily put LEDs inside.
