Tutorial on how to professionally pack a TV for a move, demonstrated by a professional packer/mover.
i dont need to pack a small tv i can carry it. show us how you can pack a 70" plasma tv as easy then i would be suprise
By datboifromcbc 1178805620The idea was to show the technique and you might be surprises but it is the same with Plasma TVs. Only difference is that you would need a helping hand which was not available for this clip. With Plasma you will need a wardrobe box. All is just the same and you need to place the TV in the middle of the cut-open and flattened wardrobe box. That’s it. And btw, as for big screen floor model, normally these will be wrapped with pads and a cardboard/box will be used to cover just the screen part of it. Hope you find this useful.
By *Artemis* 11788074571. If you are a professional, how come you don't have a Tape dispensing gun? - But instead mess about having to tear the tape.
2. That piece of bubble wrap would make no or very little difference. The impact required to break or scratch a TV screen would not be prevented by a single piece of bubble wrap.
3. Most Professional removal companied have padded bags to protect tv's and if i was moving house myself, i too would wrap it in a large padded blanket or quilt.
Overall, not a very good video in my opinion. Sorry.
Actually, MOST professional movers DO NOT use the dispensing gun as it encumbers the process. As for the pads, they are used to cover the TV after the packing, or in case of a big screen, they are sometimes used underneath. Further more, with the pads being soft, although thick, they do not offer proper protection for fragile surfaces. The purpose of the video is for self-pack instructions, not for moving companies. Most people do not have moving pads and the bubble offers some cushion when not using a pad. As for its not protecting massive impact, if the TV is dropped, most likely the pad of box wouldn’t save it either…
By *Artemis* 1178825985Are you for real?
They dont use the gun as it encumbers the process??
WHAT?
So using a tool specifically designed to perfectly dispense tape, flatten it to the surface and then neaty trim it off while leaving it ready to re-dispense is more of a hassle than having to mess around finding the end of the tape each time you have to tear it with your fingers?
Are you insane?
If you are a pro i feel sorry for anyone who employs you. Putting a bit of bubble wrap and a thin piece of cardboard box around a tv will probably stop it getting scratched at the most.
You are talking crap.
The manufecturers are making their money on people like you believing that the dispenser is the mover's god created friend on earth to dispense the tape, as you said, neatly. As if the TV would care. If you know how to use the tape, the dispenser will make no difference. But hey, it's you money, you TVs. Have fun with it.
By *Artemis* 1178827189How can you say its easier your way?
I would love to challenge you to a race to see who could tape up more boxes, you by hand or me with a tape dispenser. I have a funny feeling i would win.
There are millions of tape dispensers sold....they were sold for a reason.
Just admit you f*cked up by not using one and now you are p*ssed off because i brougth it up!
I guess you have more years of experience than I do and obviously packed many more hhg. But hey, not everyone stirs their coffee the same direction. You'll probably say next that I must have watched Spiderman 3, or be using Uni-Ball pens for my essays or have a Nintendo Wii, cause hell, they sold millions... ROFL... You kill me man. At least you have a sense of humor, I must give you that.
By *Artemis* 1178828098What the hell has coffee, Spiderman 3, Uni-Ball pens or Nintendo Wii's got to do with this.
I'm getting bored of you now pal.
You better get back to packing your boxes up anyway, cos the length of time it took you to pack up that crappy tv and wrap it with tape i think you need all the time you can get.
I think the rating and amount of views speak for themselves!
Thank you and good night!
it's definitely not worth my time... go ahead if you feel you must have the last word. I promise I won't answer...
By *Artemis* 1178829487i just finished reading ur heated debate. and y the F**k do care if shes a pro mover. and y did u call her a dick for no reason. and a tape dispenser would help a retard(like yourself) who cant rip a piece of tape.
Dick!
Yeah,I said it 'Dick'
Your support is much appreciated :) I couldn't have said it better myself ;)
By *Artemis* 1178836356asked you.....and why do you care?
I am entitled to my opinion, if you dont like it, tough S**t i dont give a f*ck what you think.
