(S.E.P) Definatley Worth a Watch, It Could Save Your Life One Day...(A ShootingEggs Production)
yes because while filling up i always have a massive ball of tin foil in my pocket
By WOODSY_84 1179090387I thought I was the only one who kept a giant ball of tin foil then drinched my pocket in gas and made 1,000 calls!
By shoushu 1185392660some of the parts of your car (that that are in contact with gasoline/petrol) are made of aluminum...
By Trav20 1186684570wow, i see people saying remind me not to take a ball of tin foil, scraps of cardboard, and a frying pan to a gas station, or saying remind me not to make 1000 calls
1. ALOT of cars are made out of aluminum, aswell as im sure soda cans that are quite possibly laying discarded on the ground, and parts of the pump itself, and how many empty paper/cardboard cigarette packs on the ground
2. you know how many people fill up and how many calls are made out of a single gas station per day? hundreds possibly thousands, it might not happen on the first, just like the video but it is possible considering how many times a day phone calls are made there
causes explosions. Like getting in and out of your car a lot and shuffling stuff around looking for things. And then you get a discharge of static electricity.
This I'm not so worried about.
Cars don't explode.
Tankers can, if they're empty. The fumes inside are an appropriate fuel:air mix to cause almost instantaneous combustion, and combined with the pressure of confinement, this results in an explosion. Car gas tanks aren't particularly well sealed (rubber hoses) and there is almost always fuel sitting in the bottom that isn't picked up. A car's gas tank will just burn, the pressure being released by burned or burst fuel lines.
Is it just me or at around 12 seconds, is there already some sort of powder in the pan. Could it be that he's tricking us? Maybe he's producing the effect but not the way he says. I tried the tomato one, and trust me it did not work, others tried it... same results. Nice vids but idk, there's something fishy going on...
By CPâ„¢ Productions 1205636043is thats its nearly impossible to light the gas station up if your talking on the phone. hmm thats great.. but i already knew that cuz i watch myth busters...
By Predator04 1179010039the only reason the foil went up in flames because of the 3 bits of card and petrol cauysing static, phone had nothing to do with it.
By gtirlad 1179047997but not, the reason it went up is because the microwaves caused by teh cellphones signal created an arc between two points on the tinfoil, detonating the gas
By dragon1991 1184589672spark generators in disguise right dragon1991????? u F**king retard
By jvagnier 1202863638Thanks for the advice, I'll stop filling up my gas tank while I'm calling someone and holding my pan with rolled foil in it... YOU SAVED MY LIFE!!!!
By Bouledogue_Fr 1179053071is so funny, he says to use only a little bit of petrol, then he saturates the foil
By dgleck 1179090254because it takes not much more than 150F to ignite gasoline. As someone who has been the petroleum industry for 15 years, I have seen my share of morons doing idiotic things around the volatile liquid and gas.
By chopper0305 1179010410Hi, thanks for watching this short film, please check out our other videos and feel free to email me with any questions, comments or ideas for future projects, hope you enjoyed our production

By Irishpacifist 1179001805Than from a cell phone+gasoline

By jamsey123 1263550125that does not show it was the phone that caused the ignition still could have been static electricity and its true that mithbusters prooved that this cannot be caused by a mobile phone. I think becuse the phone was in your hands this was more likely the cause of ignition than the phone. Also it took alot of calls to ignite the fuel so the static was building up on you while you were making the many calls.
By annual_uk 1252858423usually no balls of aluminum foil in a puddle of gas at ear/telephone level while I need to make 50 three-second calls. Whew!
By jeffery19677 1247437055you will see all kinds of ways fires can ignite.
gasoline (petrol/fuel) has a low flash point (doesn't take much heat to ignite it).
and it's the fumes that burn, not the liquid.
even static electricity is hot enuf to ignite it. that's why they say not to get in and out of a car, just that little brush with the fabric, or the static in your hair grounding out to the frame can cause (POOF, you're dead... or at least singed, and an expensive bill for rebuilding the station, a few cars.. etc..
it will only explode if the fumes are contained in (a tank for example) where the flames can't burn and escape faster than they expand fromthe heat, at which point, BOOM.. nevertheless, the FIRE, or ELECTRICITY near gasoline is a no no..
and proves Darwin somewhat correct.. only the strong (and the intelligent) will survive.
I Appreciate your video. Please watch this, free film online : Methane and Water.
By nc9 1233664284The idea here is that when you make a call on a cell phone it sends out electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves can cause sparks when they hit something that is conductive: the aluminum in tinfoil would be perfect for this experiment. Im not sure why the tinfoil is lifted from the pan with the paper cards unless they are keeping the tinfoil from being grounded which may make a much more impressive spark come to think of it. Although the idea is plausable I just have a really hard time believing that a small phone like that can cause enough electromagnitisim to spark the foil. If instead of a phone you were using the magnatron from a microwave then I would have no problem believing it. Also there would be no accumaltive effect on the foil from the EM waves so it would not matter how many times you called with your phone. It may be possible to charge a simple home made battery like a layden jar <-(i think thats how you spell layden?) Then after charging it with a few hundred calls you might have enough built up energy to then discharge the electricity onto the tinfoil with a metal rod which might make it spark enough. It seems to me thats the only way you could pull this off with a cell phone.......but I really am just guessing. Its hard to believe that a cell phone would release that much electromagnetic energy but if anyone can point to a websight that has that info and can prove that it can be done then Id be happy to be wrong. Also there are countless ways to fake this video, with or without using video editing so it will take more than this video to prove it to me. Id try the experiment myself but I cant afford to make 300 phone calls on the cell plan Im on!
By bhornbuckle75 1232097320PHONES in a gas/petrol station.
try the shell suit family wearing nylon, if theyre filling up get the smegg away as nylon is much more conductive and has been proven to be more dangerous than mobile phones,
DONT BELIEVE ME TRY RESEARCHING BRANIAC(SHOWN ON SKY1 IN UK)
This is really posible, although not probable. You take your chances.
By Saorok 1220205359Achmed the dead terrorist with his cellphone "Well i was getting gasoline and i answered my phone: " Can U hear me now? Boom" ^^
By Karpoez 1203285035I recall watching an episode of Mythbusters on TV on afternoon, they tried this exact experement, ecept, they were ACTUEALLY filling a car with gas.. and they tried it.... NO FIRE! They researched it and found that there have been no records of fires coused by cell phones at gas stations...
By silvanoshei7 1194354317frequencies...like a HERF gun (google it) or when you can see little electric discharges on a fence around a radio tower.
By colonel_angus23 1187543450Oh I'm glad I am not the only one who keeps foil on me. Felt kind of alone for a minute.
By Master of mischief 1185784033And I love all your other videos, keep 'em comin man. Fantastic!!!
By geemonkey72 1185691725Not a single case of this EVER happening in the United States. This whole thing was started by one of those Chain E-mails and now everyone believes it. This 'experiment' has nothing in common with filling up a gas tank. Feel free to check SNOPES out to see the truth. I believe the Mythbusters did an interesting show on it too. Multiple cellphones in a giant plexiglass room full of atomized gas. Call after call, they couldn't get it to go up. Huh. LOL
By geemonkey72 1185691675can ur oven explode if u leave it on without fire?
By xTamonBoizx 1185157797i've been bored watching random videos here today and i can't get over how stupid allot of people are!
on the subject of this video, perhaps you won't carry tin foil into a petrol station, but your car is probably mad of metal... allot of metal!
Can you get free royalty free music of freeplaymusic.com or do you pay for it?
By RealLiveVideo 1181794678It is not dangerous to use a mobile phone anywhere near a petrol pump. The changes of this actually happening are beyond remote.
By BENGALCHEETA 1180328366not to make 15 phone calls next time i fill up...even though i can't afford to fill up. and I guess I have to leave my foil ball and baseball card collection at home. lets see a vid with you on your phone, filling up at a gas station. I am sure you won't get the same results...but if you do, I'm not responsible...I can't hate though, it is a cool vid!
By noidest04 1179884931that is build up on a person. When getting in and out of the vehicle with out discharging yourself by touching the door. You then would touch the nozzle of the pump, with would then discharge there, causing the fire. When the right humidity fumes air ratio is right.
By js4u2c 1179241770Mythbusters did a special on this and they filled a Plexi Glass Box the size of a phone booth with fumes from gasoline (fumes are whats flammable not the liquid) and they hung a cell phone inside by a wire and called it for hours with no effect. I dont know how these fellows got this to light but Im not buying it. However holding a match slightly off screen above where the fumes would be rising could cause this. Im not sayin its not possible cause nothing is impossible but I watched this done by the guys at mythbusters and they busted it and I mean its all documented on that show so I trust them.
By TrippinBalls 1179027232two things, one the mythbusters tested this, two then number of times you called is impractical so nobody should worry about this, only the static built when people get back into their cars while the gas pumps. good video though.
By Corim123 Productions 1179027139so next time i have a pan with 3 folded cardboard things suspending a huge tinfoil ball douced in gas...i'll be sure not to make 1000 calls...thanks for the heads up...did you know that if you put 100,000 monkeys at typewriters for an infinate amount of time they will eventually create a shakespearean play?
By m@@ 1179003042was 100% dope. 20 stars man, never expected that ending
