  • Stupid Cops! What About All the Innocen...

Don't you love how the narrator says the person of the car that got hit, got slight injuries? I doubt it. He/She probably still has pain from that accident years later.
Unbelievable. You don't just chase a car and smash it with innocent citizens all around. Idiot American cops!!! They think they're so macho! How macho do they feel when they kill little kids during their police chases.

Running from the police is a felony that I would never even consider. Put a bullet in a convicted felon's head. For convicted misdemeanors, put them in stocks in front of the local courthouse and let law abiding citizens throw rotten vegetables at them. Save My Tax Dollars.

    • It depends

... on what the person was doing or on his way to go do - sometimes a cop has to make a judgement call: Are we going to injure somebody, or are we going to let this guy continue and then we'll end up having somebody dead on our hands 2 days from now. I'd like to find out what this suspect was actually being chased for, 'cause I agree if it was just speeding, then this was a bit harsh, but if it was kidnapping, raping, murder or something like this, then I'd gladly be the person who got "slight injuries and have pain for years to come" if I knew that caused somebody to retian their lives.

    • Most likely...

That video is a bit old. It has the old SPIKE logo, so yeah. Those practices are being phased out. It isn't worth the loss of innocent life, so police are NOW giving up. I know within cities they can only chase you for a matter of seconds and if you are darting through traffic and pulling away from them, they are required to back off.

    • it doesn't matter what he did

the bottom line is that he fled from the cops...do we really want police officers just giving up and letting the suspect flee freely? look at some more high speed chases that don't end so well, and i'm sure you'll agree that having a few injuries is a lot better than letting the suspect run a red light and T-bone an innocent driver...i think the cop pulled off a damn good pit maneuver considering this was rush hour traffic...

    • stupid as u said !!!!!

Not only in the case, in the most of cases, police men in USA act like the want to revenge of they people, in all cases I have seen.
When they case some one, the who been cased may be kill one person or have some drugs, but when they chase him/her like this the kill other 5 or six people who have nothing to do with the matter at all.
You people in the USA should sue them and ask for procedure or policy to be followed by police men not to chase anyone, they could stop him by so many way but not chase him.

    • They don't care!

I've seen heap's of these video's in Australia and I think they'll have the same attitude that our police have here and that is, they just think "Well all in a day's work" then at the end of the day they go home and forget about it { there are some who do their job and then have mental issue's about it }but in regard's to the one's that don't, if they were put in a situation were something like this affect's them personally then I'll bet it would be a different story! There are better way's to deal with car chases using technology but they won't use it because doing so mean's their number's will be greatly reduced. There are some decent people in law enforcement but they are becoming a rare breed! I guess it's because the system doesn't complete the job after they have done their's or it's entirely wrong and they don't want to enforce it, most good officer's of law "quit" their job after striking similar or the same problem's! It is a shame on us all!

For all of you who were quick to damn the cops for this action and paint them all with the same brush, when something happens to you, do you fellow citizens all a favor and dont call the cops for help or bail you out of your jugheaded problems. They can stay out facing criminals that would have you pissing your pants just to have that criminal look at you. Dont add to the cops already tough day with your wussy ass crap baby cries!!!

Anyway they are a criminal and need to be off the street one way or another!! and that wasnt a hard hit for the other car, so I'm sure they are just fine today and not suffering from any more pain.

      • Very Bad Chase

I am a police officer and believe me we don't get off on innocent people getting hurt. I agree with ‎Pietertjie, I would have to know why they are being chased. If this subject is attempting to run over or has run over pedestrians then this would be justified. However, any other situation would be very hard to rationalize. A pursuit in heavy traffic like this for a simple traffic violation should have been called off. Even for a misdemeanor or non-serious felony.

        • Cops love that crap...

They love to hurt people and cause huge scenes they don't care at all about the public and thats why the public detests them. Cops in the US are modern day gesto tazing senior citizens and pregnant women. Shooting people dead on safety and welfare checks. I would rather sleep under a bridge than wear a badge because I like people and like to help them not terrorize and hurt them.

I dont know one thing , why these cops are always chasing the wrong doers on highways. I mean to say is that they must have check points while entering these higways and they can catch them easily. Just chasing them will put the lives of other people in danger. these ppl dont have brains.

All of you idiots need to shut up and stop acting like experts on this stuff. None of you have no idea the circumstances of this pursuit and have no right to critisize the judgement of a trained officer. You do not know his crimes, or what was ahead on the road. This very well could have been the best spot to p.i.t the vehicle!Cops are trained to do this without restraint, and they did so!good job!!!!!!

sound effects from these chase videos. The audio from the helicopter never picks up the sound like that. All of it is dubbed in and unnecessary. I have noticed the generic siren they use is the same for all their videos. There are different sirens out there instead of the old Adam 12 sound bite. My goodness.

but that seemed like a pretty inefficient and dangerous way to catch these guys. If they had just backed off and paced at a distance they would still have nailed the baddies minus the innocent civilian damage and potential casualties. *IF* these guys were stealing plutonium or C4 or some such I could see this, but frankly they already had a chopper keeping an eye on them so why not wait for a deserted road etc?

                    • Rush hour traffic in Atlanta

If memory serves this chase took place in rush hour in Atlanta. A rule of thumb in pursuits is to try to end the pursuit through "the best way available" without endangering others. The cars were all running slow except the crook and the cops. So a collision would not likely have been deadly at these speeds. There was a traffic jam for miles and they had to choice but to risk property damage before this guy had a chance to get away or kill someone.

                      • I disagree

With a traffic jam, and a chopper keeping an eye on them - where would they go exactly? If there was a traffic jam up ahead - just wait for them to be forced to stop and nab them.

the speeds are looking over the speed limit of where seat belts are a ness. the police shoulda waited for a better time for the take out trick they've been taught. aswell they learn this tactical move to help prevent other causualtes lol not to prevent the risk of preprty damage.lol..and your rule of thumbs is always first this would be a great reason why OJ didn't get this done...and as for traffic..they cleared off all roads..i hope the cop was investigated on this one.

prime example of a perfect takedown at the wrong time. I looks to me (and please remember this is only my opinion) that the officer decided to take out the car out of the helecopters view. I have no doubt that taking a criminal out is the best course of action but the police are lucky non of the cars rolled.

I don't see ANY justification for endangering innocent people that way. We've all seen police chases where they didn't have to FORCE a suspect to crash into an innocent's person's car. Sure, the police's insurance company might have paid for any medical and property damage, but the damage is still done and people have to live thier lives with those injuries.

you would have to prove the police acted contrary to public safety. in a pursuit where the driver is already speeding or driving recklessly its not likely you would win. you could take the guy driving the car to civil court but it's not likely he has any money to pay the lawsuit if you won, and his insurance won't pay for damages caused while commiting a crime. your pretty much out of luck unless you have a rider on your insurance.
