Company Unveils Plan to Extend Services to Other Brands

At this year's 2011 CES, OnStar unveiled new technologies to expand their business. After more than a decade of responding to over 100,000 crash notifications for General Motors vehicles, they will now make their services available to other brands.

The launch of the retail product, OnStar Anywhere, is the beginning of a new direction for the company and will bring unprecedented safety features to people who drive Fords, Toyotas, Hondas and other vehicles. The device will only require a subscription and swapping out the rearview mirror with an OnStar Blue Button mirror. Key services will include Automatic Crash Response, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Stolen Vehicle Location Assistance, Hands-Free Calling, Emergency response button and Bluetooth connectivity.

OnStar Anywhere will be available this Spring at Best Buy and other select retailers.
