Defect was commissioned by CBC television's "ZeD" and first aired on April 4, 2003. This piece is highly symbolic. The Robot, the factory, the swamp, and the creature all represent different aspects of my own creative process. It's all rather obscure, and I don't expect viewers to "get it" on that level. So rather then try to explain what it all means to me, I suggest you watch it and enjoy it on whatever level you choose. I think it's more interesting to hear how others interpret the piece, rather than try to explain what I had in mind. Feel free to leave comments as to what you feel it is about; your interpretation is just as vaild as mine.
