No, I took kempo, also. Kempo is sharp, and attacks come from outside, while wing chun is fluid, and attacks come from the center line (nose, sternum, groin, etc..., very brutal).

what my sensei has been teaching. Both Wing Chun and this particular form of kenpo stress fast infighting techniques. I heard somewhere that White Eyebrow is also similar(but I've never seen it). I'm nowhere as fast as this fellow is...but I'm working on it. (Speaking of fast...Have you ever seen Paul Mills?)

No, I haven't seen Paul Mills before, I'll check him out. The only Kempo man I have met is Dan Inosanto of JKD fame. He trained under Ed Parker. This was at a JKD seminar for Wing Chun students. The only other exposure to kempo is that film "the perfect weapon" which would love to see again sometime.

Also I would point out that speed consists of efficiency of movement, non-telegraphing of unnecessary movement, perception speed ,reaction speed etc, not just raw speed which we see in the demo. Which is all it is.
I could punch out candles with the wind of my punches (a lot of practice though). I didn't mean I could hit an opponent at will. I'm afraid real sparring is a lot more complicated than that but demos are more impressive and easier to pull off.

With punches as fast as that, you really don't need an awful amount of power. You just hit towards pressurepoins and other weak points on the body, such as the throat.

heh, any decent martial artist would allow this guy to even come near to his sensitive areas. LIke I mentioned, he is fast but no power. For those of you that have not studied "fast" hand-to-hand combat, the way to slow a person hands down is to know how to block, some decent footwork and very importantly, counter attack. This guy has no power, it takes very little effort to block his attacks and as he come forward some more, give him a real punch in the face. He'll either fall flat on the ground or if he's smart, step back and block the strike. Furthermore, if you have not been trained in "fast" hand-to-hand combat, but know grappling (judo, brazilian ju-jitsu) take the dude down. He won't be able to do anything with the handspeed once you have him in a armbar.

Now i'd be breaking the rules here in China. To video tape our practices to prove a point or whatever like this guy here. A true Kung Fu artist don't need to video take his practice to state he's fast or not...We here in China do tournaments. All I've done was state major weak points in that guys movments, sure he may look good training but in actual combat it would be useless against a high ranking artist.

I'm heard in Hong Kong since I'm ranked number two and by brother in law has the number one ranking and still undefeated. I haven't been outside China because I hrlp run my family school. To me honestly it would be a waste of my time to come to America and join tournaments there simply because I would feel downgraded. The kids that I teach would be to much for any American artist. Schools in the U.S are just there to make money that is all.
