These young men changed Drumlines in America. In 1982 Pernell Briggs, Gerald Tharrington, Timothy Bryant and Daryl Spellman won second place in an all white talent show in Greesboro, NC.

  • Great video by why the title

i think this video is outstanding, great performance. i just want to know why someone had to add the part to the description that it was an all white talent show? i mean it was 1982 not 1952, segregation was over. why is it that even know in 2007 we still have to make little comments like that. all that does is keep racism alive, let it go. they did great and it doesnt matter their color.

    • You are absolutely right.

The reason I added the comment about an all white talent show is because I submitted a clip from a movie titled "Drumline" and instead of the people commenting enjoying the talented musicians they commented on the movie being racist because it was majority black, or that black people have attitudes and all types of racist comments.

It offended me because this site is worst than other video sites when it comes to racism. It doesn't matter what the clip is most people on here turn it into a race, sex, culture, nationalistic issue. People have given up on just being entertained by the human race.

  • Remarkable!

Thanks for posting this! I think it was most appropriate to mention it was an all white talent show even in 1982. If Readers(posters) to this site think racism was dead then (or still is) you haven't traveled in the south. I went south for the first time (from Michigan) in 1960 and remember the segregated bathrooms and drinking fountains.
Well done...good post and really talented young men.
