good one... all the respect in the world to him
By israel-tomer 1139068626 Reply Spam [+9] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell done to him but i think he took it a bit far when someone is injured but you have a chance to score you score simple as that.
By cranro 1152357359 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehe didn't take it so far 'cause its not just "someone" that got injured... its the goal keeper and i don't see any glory in scoring a goal when the keeper is down and injured.

Was against my team and yeah was fair play, but this guy is no angel. He pushed a ref over (was soooo funny) and gave Nazi salutes. He is a fascist (by his own words) but yeah was fair play.

By LeighStrouther 1188161835 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis was a good act from a very "rebel"
player
Now thats how you treat the game with respect.
By Fernandosh 1157530473 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removefunny you see such action from a fair player when my tem got into a similar situation but the result was so different.
a ball was going back to our goal keeper and a defender was guarding it till it reached the keeper... the attacker of the other team "shouldred" our defender and that caused him to stumble and hit out goal keeper in the head with his knee... the keeper instantly fell down unconcious and the defender was down as well... the attacker just took the ball and shot at the empty net and the stupid ass refree considered that as a goal.
it was a foul paly and the game should have stopped due to the fact that the goal keeper is injured but that didn't happen, the keeper was replaced as he couldn't stand up again and we lost the match... what Di canio did was a top quality action that deserves respect.
He went down after he knew the ball was out of his range, look at it he took a step after he got hit....wimpy soccer players
By hortie 1156046536 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe goalkeeper obviously wanted to continue but bucked when he put weight on his injured knee. He probably didn't notice that his knee took a bad hit due to him concentrating on the ball, or maybe he thought he could hold out, but the pain was too much when he stepped with that leg and he buckled.
Ever think about it that way?
Respect to pablo di canio for doing that, but the bad thing about it is that it was against everton!! If i was him i would of left the b*****d to die on the ground! Come on Liverpool!

By Reza1970 1142647315 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveFirstly the goalkeeper handled the ball outside his area, and secondly Di Canio is a fascist bastard
By BarcaParaSiempre 1142644377 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHe didn't handle it outside the box, and if he'd have not got injured he'd have easily reached the free ball before the West Ham player.
He had to be subbed after so he obviously wasn't faking.
Di Canio:
"I made the Roman salute because it's a salute from a comrade to his comrades and was meant for my people.
"With this stiff arm I do no want to incite violence or racial hatred."
I don't think a man that salutes his own fans with a Fascist salute deserves respect.
By BarcaParaSiempre 1142644202 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf anything he was just pointing to the goalkeeper showing the ref why he stopped.
By Annonymous 1143082528 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveRESPECT!!!!
By bbba 1142452836 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehard to tell whether or not the goalie dived. I would've tried to score. Bad play by golie to go for the ball and gets caught so he moans that he is hurt.
By b0b 1141935132 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhen Paolo did his act of sportsmanship he must have forgot about all the other people he would or could have hurt. If say at the end of the season West Ham are relegated by two points. I am not sure it was the correct thing. Sometimes being a nice guy doesnt reap rewards. Luckily West Ham didn't go down, but the club may have lost millions, whereas 2 mins later the goal keeper would have been attended to. Its easy to say he was a gentleman after they stayed up. He was being paid to do his best for his side and it could be looked upon as him being selfish and more concerned about how he looked to the public.

Nice thing to do anyway. I'd say more about the spirit of sport, but it would just sound lame.
He did the right thing. You wouldent kick a man while he was down would you?
Not a selfish player. Anyway the goal wouldent be as good without the effort from the keeper.
what a spiritual player

By canman 1137464020 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeamerican sports look for every chance to fight? are you talking about boxing or wrestling. American football - a real man sport - of course they'll fight. Maybe chess or soccer they don't fight - no pads needed - you know a safe sport. American basketball - no pads but they'll fight. Soccer - we'll sport for the french - sissies.

By d watcher 1136555401 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWhat is wrong with people these days? They are al going crazy. How in hell does soccer clip about fair play turns into all this rubbish and stupid comments?? To American football fans( 99% of whom are American) no one got a gun to your head making you watch soccer clips, so stop with all this bullshit about Football( which I really do like watching and I follow allot) being tougher and harder. That what happens when you’re into only one sport? You don’t know S**t about other sports like soccer. Fact is soccer players are very well conditioned and trained. There are not timeouts in soccer, not TV timeouts or team timeout. Soccer Players play cont. for 45 minutes take a 15-20 min break and come again and play 45 minutes. There are no four 15 min quarters with like 10-15 minutes break in between which is the case with American football!!! And also take into account that soccer team is always on the filed. You can’t take a guy out for a play and then bring him in again!!! And you definitely can’t leave the game b/c the offense on the field and you play defense!!! And to Soccer fans all over the web and in the world why in the hell do you try and talk back to these people who say such ignorant and stupid things?? Do you know how many people in the world like you and me consider soccer there favorite game compared to American football!!! They are the minority, lets them talk S**t Won’t change nothing ESPECIALLEY THE FACT THAT FOOTBALL IS THE MOST POPULAR SPORT IN THE WHOLE WORLD

By mofinatar 1147147357 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou can play soccer without expensive equipment, and there are poor people with funny names who play it and win the "world championship". What kind of sport can be won by poor people? Obviously a S**t one. Real sports can only be won by people who are either rich or win scholarships to rich colleges, and who go on to play televised games in which 40% of the airtime is spent advertising consumer products. THOSE ARE SPORTS FOR REAL MEN, ya pussies.
